No, but to say Denon don't make a good receiver is quite laughable. People go on about the great advice you get from RS but tbh I don't think they're all that half the time. There knowledge is no where near as good as my local specialist but if you know what you're after RS do some cracking deals...

They had a USB booster on the Gadget Show this week that could get a perfect signal from 1-2 miles away. It cost about £80 though!

It will be 167mm with the feet. Take them off and you'll have plenty of room. Having a 1cm gap above isn't bad. After all it's no worse than sticking another piece of AV on top of it such as a DVD player!

Well due to the general lack of interest I'm not going to bother with this now.

With your £500 budget I'd start with something like the Wharfedales you posted above (they get great feedback on AVforums) and then blow the remaining £200 on an amp and get other speakers as and when. Stretching the budget a little would get you this which would be far better than the Teac...
