My last resort is taking it off and measuring it myself...
But i thought some kind person would of done it already and be able to pass their knowledge on to me lol
I am in the same position as you... i can get my head around how he did it aswell?
TBH i am thinking he didnt give himself enough time to complete the job as he had to leave at 12:30 on sat morning when i came to collect the car?
Its really pissed me off because he is normally a top bloke...
f**king hell....
I am sure he' s done it though, the core plugs on the side of the engine have been taken out and all the engine mount assembly has been removed..
I shall be giving him a ring first thing in the morning, getting the tool made at work and personally watching him change the AUX...
So you seem to think a cambelt kit cant be fitted without doing the AUX belt aswell?
The bloke is a trusted mechanic, known him for a while.. I dont think he would do me like that? :S
I am not sure to be honest...
I left the car with him for one afternoon til the next mornin, i came to collect and he just said i couldnt do the AUX belt you need a special tool, which i havent got?
But if i get the tool he said he will fit the AUX belt kit
A few weeks ago i brought Cam belt kit, Cam timing tool and Aux belt kit
Took it to a friends garage this weekend, he fitted the cambelt kit fine but then said...
Sorry mate i couldnt do the Aux belt looks like you need some kind of special tool? :dead:
I thought the only "special" tool...
hmmm.. does sound a bit weird! whats the mileage and history of the car?
Have you got a photo of the engine bay just to clear things up? and determine its a 2.0 16v haha
I did this last week 30mins top to do it...
Jack front passenger side up, take wheels off, pull out two plugs on arch liner, then remove the 13mm bolt on the horn bracket..
DONE! :D
Re: 50% complete 172RWD!

My dad said him and my unlce was talking to you LOL... random post! :rasp:
I had a blast against my mates PH2 clio sport he has panel filter, sports cat + full system
I have catback, panel filter.. I gradually pull away from him already :D
I wouldnt pay that much either!
Try exhausts UK Sheffield, they do 200cell sports cats fitted for around the £150 mark, with lifetime guarntee aswell. I may go and get one myself
I am currently in the same position as you.. S/S exhaust, ITG filter with BIG airfeeds into airbox.
Wouldnt bother telling the insurance people about inlet work, its pointless as they cant tell if it has been matched or not as everyone is different.
Spoke to a few people about inlet work and...
When the car is on over run (high revs) dip the clutch and lets the revs go down you should hear it then..
Or drop it into a lower gear and let the car slow down, mine has a magnex cat back system on when that warms up i get some pops and bangs!
Seen it before... :D
just imagine it in standard body trim.. going down the M1 with husband, wife and 3 kids in the back then some little chav in their corsa think "ill av that, only an Espace" haaha
haha... you need the hands of a 5yr old and arms of a basket ball player to get the bolts!
Any kind of silicone is fine mate as soon the exhaust gets hot it will seal up
