On my RSi i had Spax adjustable shocks with -60mm springs.. very stiff, handled like a go-kart though!!
the car was semi-stripped out..
I had a magnex system with decat
custom Hillpower filter with CAF
and the ecu was chipped
From a standing start up to about 80mph i would stay dead...
Hillpower is theee place for RSi tuning, Nick knows his stuff about these engines.
Ive owned 2 RSi's now and to be honest i would just save your money matey.. you can spend a fair whack on them and get a minimal power gain!
with full head work, different cam/pully and a remap youll only see...
Thats a good price dude, you could strip your old engine or sell it complete, to get some of the fitting expensises back?
Would the "pro mechanic" offer any warrenty on his work? that may be the safer option?
Hopefully in the next few weeks fitting the manifold, inlet work and a remap if a certain car tuner gets motivated :dapprove: LOL
How did you find fitting yours dude.... ball ache?
manifold and exhaust system are covered under same category so youll be fine Carl..
better to be safe than sorry i would tell them about the remap, unless you carry a "standard mapped" spare ecu in the car LOL
Most insurance companies cover exhuast and manifold under the same modifaction category... so shouldnt cost that much really? i think Bell qouted me an extra £80 but i am sure you could "barter" with them LOL
I bet 90% of insurance companies/inspectors wouldnt notice the difference in the...
If it would make you feel better you can share the saving you made compared to the price of mine :rasp:
Youve just gotta keep your eye out for them.. i was watching 2 or 3 on ebay before i brought mine they all sold for £150 plus!!
Most garages charge around £40ish + to re-gas the aircon.. try some industrial air con places, a place near me does it for £20 cash in hand
Coolent will be about £25 ish
PAS fluid
Possibly brake fluid?
then your oil and filter..
so thats over £100 there, with good oil
Not quite the...
Depends how good you are with your spanners and sockets :P
are you getting any help, or doing all the work yourself?
Personally if it was a mate id charge him the price of a few beers..
I totall argee anything under 3K ish in these cars feels shocking compared to the top end power.... hopefully over the next few weeks that shall be taken care of with remap and inlet work, just not sure weather to fit the de-cat or manifold though?
What kind of cat/de-cat set up do you have...
I am in the same predictment...
Ive got a 172 de-cat and a 182 manifold sat in my garage!
Just not sure weather its worth the hassle of fitting the manifold for the "minimal" gains?
