Right basically ive got a chip to fit in my ECU... i went to maplins got a DIM chip holder, and a desoldering tool.
I thought to myself "aahhh this will only take me 20mins"
10mins later..... I desoldered 27pins, but couldnt desolder the last pin!

I didnt have a clue how to do it at first, but its not acutally that hard... but i did have Dave_RSI helping me who fitted new suspension on his car the week before ;)
The torsion bar can be a Biaatch if its seized like mine was, even worse when you...
I would rebuild the computer, clean all parts, and check all you connections, and try again...
If not take your hard drive out, and use this on another computer to try an find the problem from there?
hahahaaaa mate the exact same thing happened to me,
I was showing a mate under the bonnet, and he sed "wow look at that pipe" LOL... on my 40min drive home i didnt put my foot down once, thinking the pipe was gonna split or break hahahaa :o
Definatly best value for money is stripping, Ive also got a MK1 PH3 RSi its got a full magnex s/s exhaust with de-cat, Spax suspension kit, and a K&N apollo kit... it makes me smile :D lol
The universal magnex back boxes are rather LOOOUD! ive fitted one on my mates car, they come with a full universal fitting kit took us about 2hrs to get a good fit on a MK1 1.2 clio ;)
the 440 engines are almost exactly the same as a MK1 RSi apart from the tubro :D
There is a bloke on williams clio who has done the conversion on his MK1 RSi, looks pretty schweeeet!
