    Tesco Or V-Power?

ran my s13 on tescos 99 for 20k at nearly 300bhp and there was no problem when i pulled the head off. I'm more than happy to use it.

No more 12 month tariffs ?

had 18 month contracts for last 3-4 years but upgrade was always available after 12. They wouldn't do it this time round, 18 months is up in 2 weeks and i'm just going to let it roll over so not stuck in a contract, reduce my tarriff, and buy a phone outright. Works out loads cheaper for me.

Mapped Cars & Ambient Air Sensor

remapped standard ECU or standalone? Re-mapped standard would use the sensor, standalone would normally use its own air temp sensor instead

    Cambelt Overdue, Driving Style?

startup is one of the most likely times as it's a sharp pull on the belt

    172 Running badly, hesitating

TPS sounds a possibilty to me

Cambelt, worth getting anything else done at the same time?

that doesn't work bacause the timing can change just with different belt tension, and a new belt will certainly have stretched less than an old one too.

    172 engine tuning.

What are finish emissions limits? Our ITB kit will pass a UK MOT and i expect it's quite similar

Cambelt, worth getting anything else done at the same time?

to be honest all I can say is dont post info like this as it's so utterly wrong it's making me cringe and people will listen to it because it's cheap

    Cambelt fun

No sorry, can't quote for other people and depends what they find. I'd say bring it to us but you dont want to travel and we're in Cambridgeshire

Cambelt, worth getting anything else done at the same time?

will admit to our laguna having a knackered pump, but that had stood for a year with a snapped cambelt

When cold, won't rev above 2800 RPM

get it on a fault code reader, could be a faulty temp sensor or similar, or might just need an old code clearing

Cambelt, worth getting anything else done at the same time?

got to agree TBH, not like they have a big ass fan hanging off the pulley like some engines either, the bearings wont see a lot of grief at all IMO

    Cambelt fun

Think Rentec in southampton would be closest to you. Sounds like you have a bent valve to me TBH

    Rolling road queries ?

seriously? you get more than a couple of horsepower variation between runs over a few minutes lol. My 200sx made 288, 294 and 291 in back to back runs with nothing changed. AC should only make a difference if it's on, it doesn't make the engine produce less power either, it just uses some of the...

Cambelt, worth getting anything else done at the same time?

not so, the cam alignment bar is the same but the pulley locking tool is different

    charged clio

Darren at Omex is more than itching to get hold of a Clio to supercharge

    Rolling road queries ?

think you're crediting the cars with a higher figure than they really have as standard. 172 is about 160 on a genuine rollers, 182 about 168

    couplea pics

Valver engine wont fit under the standard bonnet :( it fouls the inlet manifold. Tried loads on Bex RSI when we fitted the spider lump as she didn't want the bulge either but had to in the end.

    cv joints gone... quote

gaitor is a bit different to the joint itself though, CV joints and driveshafts have both got very costly in the last couple of years. It's always been more cost effective to change a shaft and save on labour time but it's debatable these days. I prefer to do the shaft if I'm honest, just for...

    bent valves

totally agree, it's much better to know a head is in good condition when it goes on rather than just hope it is

Matched inlets on a 182 Feedback please!

minimal gain over an RS inlet. Gains from cams depends entirely on complimentary mapping, but you can say that of most engine tuning. 6bhp is quite a low estimate. Another thing to remember is a car doesn't get faster just by the peak numbers increasing, mid range torque is what makes a car fast...

    Reverse gear Crunch

yup. Most cars are the same, just double de-clutch and it shouldn't crunch

    Cat Glowing red hot!!!!

sounds either VERY lean or an exhaust blockage to me. It may have been a blockage that caused the gasket to fail to start with and now it's sealed you have huge back pressure. For test purposes, make it blow at the post cat join and see if it gets anything back. I'd want to plug it in to...

    205.8 bhp today :):):)

standard ECU runs map sensor which doesn't work at all well for throttle bodies (note i didn't say impossible as I've seen it work, but it ran like a dog)

    Airbag light

sorry, the squib is the explosive bit that triggers each pre-tensioner or airbag. yes just short them with a resistor, same for both pre-tens and airbags
  26. S

    Airbag light

resistors. you need a 2.5 Kohm resistor to replace each squib. bacically just bridge the plug :)
