Our Laguna loan car was bought with a snapped belt. 10 bent valves replaced with new and a seized water pump replaced (suspected as the route cause of the belt breakage) and it's all good. I'd want to fit a new cambelt to any secondhand engine you dont know the source of just to be safe, so...

I take the bumper off, it's 4 bolts and 6 trim clips and so much easier with it off IMO. It is the grille and slam panel that gets in the way but I find it more awkward to re-fit that in situ

XP is more stable and for the likes of me with fairly low spec hardware it's the only choice. Vista makes old machines fall over very regularly. If you've got something powerful then VIsta is great
