no it doesn't, removed one just this afternoon by raising the lump until the sump cleared the oilpump and pickup, didn't have to go up any more than when gaining access to the cambelt :) Not too bad a job but it's messy
It would be a lot of custom parts and fabrication, difficult to pinpoint all the parts until you do the job, but essentially you will need
- Turbo and manifold
- exhaust modification
- oil feed and return
- water feeds
- boost pipes
if you want to do it properly you will need custom pistons...
As Andy told Greg, we need to do a leakdown test to see what's happening, the quoted price was just for what he directly enquired about :)
Perfomance increase was percieved by Greg when he test drove the car
one of our loan cars is a 1.6 16v laguna. It's great, not likely to set anyone's world on fire but it's not a lumbering slug. I thought about one as a load hauler/daily b**ch vehicle after rebuilding the top end on ours.
tried O2, they sucked, tried vodaphone (run by singlepoint at the time, who i think got invesitgated for fraud lol) and they pissed me off with crap new phone deals despite a high tarriff. Been on Orange for nearly 7 years now, and the only thing that annoyed me was the surcharge for NOT paying...
worst you'll really do with too much oil is breach seals due to excess pressure, but a half litre shouldn't do that. For half a litre I think I'd pull the filter off, catch the spillage and fit a new filter without pre-filling it, you should lose about a half litre with spillage and contents of...
can't believe people think powerflow stuff is good still. Their materials are the cheapest grade they can get away with calling stainless, and the boxes are paper thin. It should tell you something that at one dealer, mornings were for making new systems, and afternoons for warranty work. And...
aux belt has to come off to do the cambelt anyway, it'd be crazy to not at least replace the belt even if you dont use new tensioners, due to the pure time and effort involved
not really a good idea, they have a specific torque as they are the cam retaining bolts. Most of the leaks I've seen have been from the breather box that's bolted to the cam cover, removing that and re-sealing it is not such a huge job, and it never hurts to clean out breathers while you're there
put a jack under the hub to steady the suspension, give a few sharp taps on the hub around the balljoint with a hammer, then hit the arm downwards HARD
can't really explain fully as each option takes you to a multitude of choices, but costs will depend on choice of new or used parts, how much you can make for yourself or acquire cheaply, and what end result you really want.
I think it's worth noting the charade gtti was making 99bhp from...
it's possible that one sparkplug had coked up when the fault originally happened and now it's struggling to make a spark even though the original problem isn't there now. Worth cleaning the plugs up properly (or getting new ones) but be very carefull if they're platinum or iridium tipped plugs
there's always more than one way to skin a cat. You could do a turbo conversion pretty cheaply if you have the skills to adapt and dont really mind what it looks like to a certain extent prob £500-1000 budget. You could do a very nice, well engineered conversion for more money, and if you really...
I wouldn't be too disapointed with that, DynoDynamics rollers give accurate figures, not inflated to make you feel good about the car like some do. Notice how many people come away from a DD rollers with less than they thought?
I always regard RR figures in old and new money, you'll always...
