Cheers mate. It's quite nerve wracking as I've worked in the same part of the industry (trucks) since I was 17, and the company I work at now for 12yrs. Now I'm moving on to a different way of doing things, so I anticipate I'll be like a fish out of water until I get settled in.
You could always use the gen90? Bastardise parts of the 225 loom that the ph1 doesn't have and job done. No need to f**k about piggybacking ecus and also future proofs the car should you wish to upgrade.
Scoff mapped mine on a gen90, so it's no drama for him either. Or rs tuning come to think...
I'm going to work as a technician for Sytner BMW gents. They've done me a really good package, so I'm off! No more nightshifts, no more heavy lifting or beating the s**t out of stuff with a hammer. I've been unhappy in my current job for quite some time now, and it was having a negative effect...
Looks like brakes to me! Anyone who's looking for a set of hc brembos and ds1.11's for a 197/200/225/230 - Kam racing are the go to guys. They've got them in stock ready to go at a awesome price!
In other news: I'm going to work for BMW.
So do those bleed bottles make it a one man job to bleed the brakes? I'm assuming yes?
If that is the case, do us an idiot proof drawing as I've only got an eezibleed and I just find it a faff tbh.
Put in reverse and cable tie the lever fully over in the reverse position to pull it up tight to the reverse lift part of the shifter base. That's how I did mine and it was spot on from the get go.
1st picture shows how narrow the cup racers were on the rear! Never noticed that before tbh! Also shows how much better they look with body colour mirror caps, and dare I say it, I think I prefer it without the grey wrap.....
2nd picture is just full of win! The trophy really does look epic...
Lol! I'll have a look in the group buy thread and see how many had expressed interest in the grp n tool mate. I need 10 as a minimum before it'll start.
This weekend the AG let me down. On Saturday I was going up to Donington park to watch @Ash-b-84 @Tony Hunter @@Josh & @Tom Johnson racing in the TARC. I jumped in the 200 and reversed out of the garage, then switched it off to close the garage door and put my daily driver golf tdi back on the...
Ringland failure that. They do look like supertech valves mate yes. The inlets have a black coating on them, but the exhausts are polished. They still look to have the coating/polished appearance.
Don't weigh any steel rods for these engines then mate. You may be upset! Lol! They're a lot heavier.
So what engine has the crank and rods come out of? The cranks in the 736 ain't the best, but the 738 isn't too bad. 730 is the one to go for if you can find one.
I would say that's just tolerances that renault will allow mate tbh. I've never seen different rods in f4r's before (as in 730, 736, 738 & 830) but they're slightly different on the 225/230.
Has it spun the centre main causing the big ends to fail? Or just the big ends are sounding like Woody...
The wire you need is one of the 2 thinner wires going to the coil pack. The thick white wire is the 12v supply. You need to tap into one of the 2 signal wires.
Yeah I'll keep you posted mate. It'll go to scoff for mapping anyway.
Bloke does, but I do it on the side. I'm a fully qualified mechanic though, but I mainly build the jc5's up for people.
Yeah if you wanted grp n timing just drop me a pm and we can sort something out. I'm sure bloke will say...
Tbf mate my cup was very similar when it was on the standard engine and grp n timing. They did something similar with the mk3's as well, and I may or may not have the stuff to do it.
