Cheers mate. It's certainly making a huge difference already, and I ain't even left yet! Lol! The people you work with are definitely the key to how happy your workplace is. It can and does make or break it, and in my case, it's broken it. I was fortunate to work with my best mate for 7-8yrs and...
Lol yeah I suppose that's definitely one word you could use to describe it, although I'm pretty sure that word wasn't used at the time! 😂
What year is it? It was only certain years that were affected allegedly, but there's multiple reasons for why they're a bit crap.
Yeah I have my...
Yes mate that's it. The helper spring is designed to run fully compressed as they're only needed when you're at full droop. Very unlikely thing to happen unless you're raising the car up off the ground.
Collars have a Allen key to keep them pinched and not moving.
As for the play, that's because the helper spring is to keep the the spring from becoming displaced at full droop - like it's simulating now.
Cheers mate, thanks for taking the time to read through the thread too! Yeah it's definitely a leap of faith, but I'm moving into an area that I have an interest in, so fingers crossed eh! Agreed, physical and mental health is waaaaaaay more important than a job.
Flol! Don't forget I was also...
Well I ran 450lb fronts and 475lb rears. To me, the rear was too stiff and the front to soft, so I was going to go up to 500lb up front and 400/450lb on the rear.
At the end of the day it comes down to one thing, and that's personal preference. My advice would be go 450lb all round and try it...
Having had ast's, I'd got with them again tbh. Only Nick can answer how good the bilsteins are that he sells though, as they're valved/rated to suit from what I've seen/read.
Only downside to the billies is the lack of damping adjustability as far as I'm concerned, but having said that...
I imagine there was a few 'oh s**t, oh s**t' moments followed with 'eurgh' as they bounced off the armco. Then the sound of tinnitus from the airbags going off!
Not a chance mate. I know that circuit probably better than most on here, and he was well into the s**t before he comes into view. No amount of booting it would've altered the outcome.
Oh yeah I know just how bad it could've mate for definite. I've had a couple of mates who have rubbed some paint down the barriers and taken one for the team in terms of repairs and costs.
It's definitely a place that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime. No doubt about...
You could always just change 5th gear ratios? I'd need to look at which ones you'd need, or if there's even one available. Only other option is a 089 box out of a ph1, but that'll only drop the rpm down a few hundred at most.
I wouldn't bother with it personally. There's more advantage to having the cage picking up where the rear axle mounting bolts are. The more weight you put in the rear, whilst it is the enemy, will also help when it comes to corner weighting.......
