Yeah no worries mate. Got the jc5's down to a fine art now. I reckon if I had all the parts there that I'd need to do a full strip down and rebuild it would take me around 2-3 hrs tops. Lol
Lol!
I'll give you a hand with the mounting point measurements for the harnesses if you like mate. Make sure we get them in the right place for safety etc.
Oh have no fear mate, I'm keeping at it! Jc5's have been halting the progress the past few weeks/months. I'll soon only have 2 in my garage - both of them belong to me! Lol
Being a penis is not easy. Sometimes it just comes naturally, others have to work at it. I am no exception to this!!
Had a bit of spare time on Tuesday, so thought I'd make a start on fitting the oil temp sensor into the oil cooler sandwich plate. I went to remove the 1/8 npt blanking plugs and...
Take the plug off each rear light and look for corrosion on the pins/plug terminal. Get some wd40 or proper electrical cleaned on the job and give them a dose of that.
Other than that it could be the earth points that are near the rear light unit. May need to remove them and clean them up.
@M.C.. I may have a solution to the bsp sender thread. Will report back when I've done a bit more investigation!!
The guy at spa did say they'd asked Gems to make the oil pressure sender unit with a 1/8npt thread in the future, so this may well be another option.
Some fancy independent rear setup from memory. For circuit work there's no real gain other than easier adjustment, but on the loose there's obviously a few.
May be worthwhile posting what the offsets are on each wheel, and what size spacer is required mate. Obviously the cup turini is et38.5 and the trophy items are et45.
Not really an update, but this has arrived: along with this:Still not decided 100% where I'm fitting it at the minute. As long as I can see what the oil pressure is doing when I start it up for the first time I'm not too fussed! Lol!
It turns out that Spa Automotive are literally less than 10...
Yeah piece of piss mate. The passenger side shaft is oil side, so you'll have to drop the gear oil out to change that one.
Diff bearings aren't so easy. Could even be a bearing inside the box tbh. Only way to find them is rip the box out and pull it apart I'm afraid.
Check your driveshafts for up and down movement. Could be them that are goosed and moving around (gearbox end). Could be wheel bearings, could be diff bearings.
I can hear the noise your on about mate.
