If you run high comp with 403's you should definitely see somewhere near 230hp. They're a similar profile to the R3 maxi cams I've got for mine. Torque wise your looking at around 170-180lbft which is also similar to the R3 maxi setup. That's based on running the oe inlet and not itbs though...
Good question there mate! The combustion chamber is a different design, but you could replicate it on the 1*2 head. It's a relatively simple machining job, but obviously they all need to have the same volume.
To get the ports the same - your fucked. That's the simple truth. The exhaust ports...
Flol! Ah! Maybe that one then! Ha ha! I remember racing one on the way home from the billing show and one of the turbos let go!! Don't think the owner was too chuffed about being out dragged by a standard looking mk3 astra gsi! Doubt the turbo expiring helped either. Whoops!
Yeah just a tad!! Lol! VBOA is vauxhall Bedford owners association mate - they basically have a big show at billing aquadrome. I used to go all the time when I was a vauxhall man. Was a cracking show tbf, more like a social event than a car show.
Lol! Glad your pleased with it mate! I'm also glad to see its not just me with size 7 feet!!! Do you have to buy shoes from Clarks kids range as well?! Flol
If your going that wild you want to go forged hi comp pistons then imo. Stronger than the oe cast items. Also it's worth keeping in mind that the off the shelf itb options are too small and WILL restrict the power output.
Do you want itb's on it? To run the constant vvt you need to run the wiring for the cam phase sensor that's in the 197 head. You also need an ecu that can run it, but tbh you may be as well just running it the same as a 1*2 - on/off. I'm only going to run it because I've got some particularly...
Bearings are larger diameter on the cup packed 182's. Driveshafts will be slightly longer as well, but that's because of the wider subframe wishbone mounts. They share the same track width as the 172 cup you see.
I *think* you can just do the swap tbh. Just means altering your tracking as the cup packed 182 hubs have a different steering arm. Its slightly longer than the 54mm bolt spacing non cup packed hubs.
It most certainly is mate. The hubs were sent to me already shot blasted and cleaned up - made such an improvement! They impressed me that much, I sent a picture to James and got him to upload it on here when they'd been done!! The machined parts are zinc plated mate, but not the hub.
