Re: Road/Track 172
I noticed this when I had them mate, but figured you were aware already. If I'd known you weren't I'd have whacked some in for you like I did a few of the others from the group buy.
Yeah I measured it all on mine and they are monumentally s**t in standard trim tbh. Got all the measurements written down as well. Before you ask, no I'm not posting them! Reason being, I'm packing my house up to get ready to move so it's in a box marked 'shed and car stuff'.
The modified hubs...
Any jc5 130 will be fine. You could also fit a jc5 129 (ph2 172 speedo drive box) as the ratios are the same, or a jc5 089 which is ph1 with speedo drive, but has a different final drive ratio.
This is what I'm on about for reference:

It does flap about a bit but nothing horrendous. You can just about see it in my 'ring lap video mate. It's also speed tested up to 140+mph and it's not distorted it or flown off, so happy days! BIGASH and not normal dan will confirm how ridiculous my bonnet is!
They were 'sourced' shall we say! The maxi engines are just cams, pistons, heat treated rods and a fancy exhaust system and manifold. The cams have no advance needed mate. They go in on the standard marks. Maxi evo however - now that's a different ball game. That's the R3 engine that had bespoke...
I'm trying out some 50mm corrector pins in mine soon. Just the steering arm correction to do, but I'm tempted to leave it at the current ride height and just use the pins to gain more RC correction.
No mate not at all! The new owners got himself a good car.
I'd sell mine as is with a full spares package including engine, box, wheels and 888's, 2 lots of suspension and the R3 kit for 7.5k! Sadly I don't think I'd get any takers Morgan! Lol
