Pete - bin off the 25mm spacers and replace them with either 10 or 15mm spacers at a push. The 25mm ones will ruin your scrub radius and you won't get the full benefit of the hubs. Remember the new bottom ball joint holders push the wheel out 5mm over standard and the cup is already widetrack...
10 out of 10 for enthusiasm there mate! Lol! All I will say is sometimes you can look into things too deep and not actually gain anything as the end result. Trust me, I've spent a lot of time calculating things and pretty much just added confusion to myself along the way! Lol! The other enemy is...
In an ideal world the entire package should be tuned as one, and the spring rates are normally one of the last things to be settled on. Damper rates/frequencies, camber, roll centres etc etc are all calculated and corrected first.
^^^^do a google search for bump steer gauge and copy the design idea would be my advice for measuring camber change Steven103
It will keep your readings consistent.
Yeah that's definitely a solution mate. Means you can bin off the Marelli ecu and replace it with something more user friendly, and more importantly, up to date.
Yes mate the 70/80 still applies as I figured it was the rear coilover setup that you had. What's the primary use of the car mate? If it's mainly road use I'd be very tempted to run an 80 front and a 60 rear. You could even start with the 80 fronts first and see what it's like. I know that KW...
I'm surprised you haven't had an inlet manifold on a flow bench to see where the restrictions are tbh. It's 100% not the tb that's for sure. I know because I've tested one.
From my own experience 60 fronts allow too much body roll and it feels like front end is falling over itself, but it's all personal preference really. A lot comes down to what the car is used for as well. If it's road use I quite like the 60/40 setup (I have had this) but if it's used on track...
Increase the front rates to 70/80 and up the rears to the same. You will also find that a lot of body roll is induced by the roll centres if the car is lowered by a significant amount.
Yeah no worries mate. Nah been waiting on my mate paying for the engine as he's had to pay for it on instalments!! Lol! Once the engines out, the big strip will commence!
It certainly was mate. 420hp, 174mph top speed (limited by the 5spd box) and looked like pretty much every mk3 Astra gsi out there! Lol! Took a few by surprise and used 3 lanes of the m1 to keep in a straight line when given the 2 bar boost treatment. Lol! Then along came a little 53 plate cup...
You still can if you come round one afternoon! Lol! It's sat out the back doing nothing other than me waiting to remove its 420hp heart.
Thanks! It's a 50ltr tank mate. I can deliver also. ;)
