I'd love to have a car that would benefit from such a good going over, I'd have to spend a grand on mine before it would be even worth spending £500 on doing!

No in all honestly after nearly buying a 182 I went to look at the 172 I have now and they were both just as nice as each other, In the end I just decided I prefer the rear end of the 172.
That's unbeliveable bad luck matey!
I hope you're not out of pocket when/if they write it off again - don't they only offer 50% of a non cat cars value if it's been written off before?

Has anyone actually done the vag box conversion? I've always thought about dabbling with high power conversions but the choc box has always put me off.

Seen as the search engine doesn't like simply oz f1's I don't have time to trawl trough pages and pages of pages :)
If its a genuine 155bhp it should be quite good, my williams was 163bhp and felt much quicker than my 172 does!
I reckon you'd find it easily comparable to the 6 apart from the annoyance of the lack of 6th - valvers are a pain on the motorway!
