Not as yet, I did swap the vvt solenoid and that made no difference so I really think it is the Dephaser. Planning to get one on it in January before giving it back to the old man.

So this project is nearing its end and in another twist it’ll be going back to my dad. I bought @GrahamS 172 cup turbo off him which is everything I wanted this car to be so it made sense. It also means my 172 track car will be up for sale so at the end of this I will only have 1 beast of a Clio!

Was this issue ever resolved? My 182 turbo is making the exact same noise in the same conditions. Never when it’s cold, only when up to temp. I know the timing is spot as I spent a while getting it right. After reading this I will do a manual oil pressure check to make sure it’s not dropping...

Has anyone used gaz gha coilovers with the standard 300/400 spring rates? As I’m pretty sure mine are fucked as they bounce about a lot, although the roads round my way are s**t. Would be good to hear other people’s experiences

Giving string alignment a go. Not ideal without turn plates but I’m not paying £46 at the local tyre place to have it done.
