I need to order some engine bits and I want to order the thicker Megane gasket. Do I need to order a clio headset and then just a Megane headgasket, or can I just order a Megane headset? I’m not sure if the rest of the gaskets transfer over from 172 to Megane 225?
Sorry to bring up an old thread, today I managed to pop the fuseable link because the starter wiring touched the manifold 😩 from what I’ve read I need 120amp mega fuse? It’s all standard location etc
If doing it at home on the driveway I’d pull it out the top and do it all in one go. But if you have access to a ramp I’d leave the engine in and drop the subframe/gearbox.
As for jobs while it’s out, I’d whip off the sump and fit some arp rod bolts and reseal the sump. I’d also consider...
Some progress today! Subframe back on with new lower arm (offside was already new) new arb bushes inside and out. Also replaced the steering arm and track rod ends .
Fitted the rear pms studs, and ran a new fuel return line to the tank as the old one was too short. Aiming to have it rolling...
I haven’t no, still looking at them though as they seem good value! Yep I can’t wait been a long time coming lol
Cheers mate! I meant to tag you but I think I was still half asleep when I posted that this morning! Really really love them, way to good to go on track.
Been out working on the 182 today. But it’s so cold I wasn’t out for long. Can’t wait for 20 degree days and long evenings!! Anyway another day another idiotic bodge from someone, who uses a 13mm headed bolt to keep the top dash in🙄
I’d go genuine Renault for all. Renault parts direct have great prices.
Also aftermarket timing tools like to bend/fail so better getting genuine. You can always buy the tools and sell them on for not much less than you pay for them new
Removed the battery tray from the relocated battery today, glad I did as I had been tempted to keep it but will relocate back into the engine bay.
If you look closely it was held in with 4 self tapper screws 🙄 the car that keeps on giving aye!
As frustrating as this project is being im so glad...
