    Alternator end play?

I’ll check mine when I’m home but my gut is that that’s right to allow for some thermal expansion

Any alternative to the engine dynamics turbo downpipe?

As incy said I think with that brace they could be too rigid. That being said I’ve put full faith in the opinion of the guy that welded it up for me

Any alternative to the engine dynamics turbo downpipe?

Same place mine went, the guy who welded mine said that plate on them is pointless and took it off, time will tell to see if he’s right.

Any alternative to the engine dynamics turbo downpipe?

I got mine re-welded, didn’t want to buy another for it to crack again

    Colesy 182 turbo revival

I need to order some engine bits and I want to order the thicker Megane gasket. Do I need to order a clio headset and then just a Megane headgasket, or can I just order a Megane headset? I’m not sure if the rest of the gaskets transfer over from 172 to Megane 225?

    Battery/Cable/Starter amp level?

Sorry to bring up an old thread, today I managed to pop the fuseable link because the starter wiring touched the manifold 😩 from what I’ve read I need 120amp mega fuse? It’s all standard location etc

Need to replace crank seal and timing belt. Separate jobs or pull engine?

If doing it at home on the driveway I’d pull it out the top and do it all in one go. But if you have access to a ramp I’d leave the engine in and drop the subframe/gearbox. As for jobs while it’s out, I’d whip off the sump and fit some arp rod bolts and reseal the sump. I’d also consider...

    Colesy 182 turbo revival

Some progress today! Subframe back on with new lower arm (offside was already new) new arb bushes inside and out. Also replaced the steering arm and track rod ends . Fitted the rear pms studs, and ran a new fuel return line to the tank as the old one was too short. Aiming to have it rolling...

How distracting are touchscreens in cars

    Colesy 182 turbo revival

Been out working on the 182 today. But it’s so cold I wasn’t out for long. Can’t wait for 20 degree days and long evenings!! Anyway another day another idiotic bodge from someone, who uses a 13mm headed bolt to keep the top dash in🙄

    197 Timing Belt Change

I’d go genuine Renault for all. Renault parts direct have great prices. Also aftermarket timing tools like to bend/fail so better getting genuine. You can always buy the tools and sell them on for not much less than you pay for them new

    Colesy 182 turbo revival

Removed the battery tray from the relocated battery today, glad I did as I had been tempted to keep it but will relocate back into the engine bay.
