At KFC..Lmao! I bet he was laughing behind his greasy fully loaded meal when he told you that.
The 2.5 V6 192bhp is pretty nippy, to 60 it would be slower, but would keep going stronger after that all the way to the ton, and beyond.
The VXR on the other hand (no idea why this was mentioned...
Same power (supposedly), same torque, the only difference is the weight which equates to a fraction of a second quicker to 60 and 100 - Not really noticeable in the real world.

^^ I must admit that some of the recorded figures seem a little off, especially the VXR being only 0.1 sec quicker than a 182 to 100, and the 182 being quicker to 60.. Odd.

140 mph is warp speed!! When you pass a car when you're doing 140 and they're doing 70.. now thats scary!* Not worth it imo!!
*I wasn't driving, i was passenger in a 997 Carrera S.

Nice review mate. Some very interesting points. Just hope this doesn't into a keyboard bashing frenzy! If you aren't bothered about .2 seconds to 60, the 197 sounds like the much better buy for just about everything, bar 0-60/100.

I can't wait for the PS3 either, but all those companies who are allowing you to pre-order it, are only allowing you to do so in a crap bundle package. GTA4, GT5, ISS6 are the games i cannot wait for!!
The price of the console alone better drop dramitically, as it won't compete with the X360...
They are very quick cars, 0-60 flies by. It won numerous test for being the hottest hatch out there. These cars are not completely about straight line speed. They can travel through corners a lot quicker than most!
Buy one, you will love it.
