Surprised mine seems pretty much rust free, had a good look under today
Its the paintwork getting thin all over that I don't like- that's why I got stickers everywhere
Hopefully its been garaged or under cover most its life, but not everywhere been checked out
Nice fella- went there today
Got the car in the air and had a good look round- seems to be in pretty straight condition
Aux belt showing signs of age, but cambelt not too bad. Needs changing as 5 years in a few months- he can do which is fab, but i want to get the MOT done 1st. (MOT 7th May...
ah
ah right- thought the comment strange. Didn't know aircon pumps had clutch. don't think ive ever heard a thump when I turn air con on.
will investigate tomorrow
thanks
Not when i engage the clutch so not release bearing
Havent tried air con tbh, but think the sound is continual, but sometimes goes when warmed up. Always comes back at some stage especially when cold
Got a squeaking engine bay noise, rises and falls with engine revs
Assume its A/C on its way out, maybe water pump, or another worn bearing somewhere- anything else i should consider ? (Its not brakes, thats a different squeak lol)
Am visiting Clio man over the weekend, Littlehampton West...
if its only leaking I would just patch it up, for now and maybe just replace pipework?
Mine boils on track days and spits our over the engine bay- just clean it up and have bottle fluid with me
But mines a cheaper version than yours :tonguewink:
Looks great- BHP Lydden (Intermediate) _ May 7th
Took your lead and booked 6 intermediate today. Strange you can pay online, then have to send a paper details entry form off.
Wonder how they know which 6 sesh's to allocate, as I assume there much be more than 1 an hour , only 6 hours
Don't really want late ones, mind you weather may colour...
Redlining seems to just make more noise, and not that much more acceleration for me
although there is something satisfying about not being able to floor the throttle pedal any more
to be honest i probably venture into 6k+ a little more than i actually to notice...... eyes on the road n all that
Think the last part, answers the first part of your comment
I certainly don't hold back, but don't drive round track with the engine screaming
There are enough slower cars to chase down, than fast Elise to catch up with
Rev counter below 5kmost of time :tonguewink:- its more the fun and...
Yes, not sure they apply all the reduction but some company's definitely take into consideration driving company vehicles. I had a company vehicle for about 10 years, altho they didn't apply a full reduction
Have had my £550 Y reg 2001 Clio 172 for about 16 months, and chuffed to bits. Done probably 6 full track days, and another 5 x 2 hour/evening slots and a few 20 min single seshs's at car shows.
Mechanically it only need an ABS front shaft fitted (Got a new one put in) and other than reboring...
only problem is is first come 1st served, 10am, and then there may be a queue etc etc
I dont mind if i dont get in as i live round here, but feel for anyone travelling a long way and not getting in
(I may be able to sort some free local parking come think of it- 10 mins walk away if needed-...
my new (cheap) pads on existing front discs squeak a little bit on mine too. Was careful putting them on last November and used copper slip as the utube video illustrated, But at a certain pressure there is a small squeak and only goes when used a fair few miles to be honest
idea is to upgrade...
The sunshine is beckoning nicely down here in the South today, (Although a cold spell is due imminently apparently) and makes me think of all the lovely Car shows/events that I will be attending in 2018
What events you planning on doing, give me some ideas, as i might learn something and attend...
Got this back from ACE cafe = so its meet early and head for the seafront for those that want to go
Hi Chris,
Thank you for contacting Ace Cafe, and for your interest in InCarNation.
As the interest for the event is so high, i am afraid that we have run out of car club space months ago...
Not booking track time till end of Feb myself. Am still debating whether to go novice or intermediate
The last track day i did there i went novice, and ended up passing most drivers .
The intermediate sessions only had 6 or so cars, and the advance had 3! So much so that at end of day they just...
One of my favourite shows of the year, and my favourite Track circuit
I am signing up for 4 track slots at £20 for 15mins if you book before April- very reasonable
A circuit very suited to small well powered Clios
We stay in a hotel the night before in the Dover area, and get to the show 7am...
Given up trying to get hold ACE cafe to get a Club stand- best bet is to get a list of people to meet somwhere and drive in and park up together. Suggest we get there earlyish, so not be parked all way up to Marina
Anyone up for it? My first meet as theres no Clubstand for Spring Action day in...
