My understanding is these engines are quite sensitive to timing, I personally wouldn't risk it as it will be wrong for years after the fact. Not seen any 'good' reviews over the years on being on the forum but happy to be told otherwise
It could be: Blocked drains, rubber seal between car and glass or the silicone seal between the sunroof mount and the car. Take the sunroof glass out and pour some water into the drains either side and see if the water drops out behind the front wheel. If the water is draining then it is most...
Are you leveling the lights with the engine on? I don't think the lights level/save position correctly if not
Also is the arm the adjuster connects too in one piece?
Edit: ignore the last bit, if it wasn't it would have have come out with it

From what I have read the pipes going into the bulkhead for the heater core are the worst. You should be able to push the two clips either side of the joiner and pull but a lot of...
Circlip removed - bushing is definitely above the groove. Gave it a good brake clean and reinserted.
Tested it with a 150 mile roundtrip; a night and day difference. It's removed the little hesitation I had when shifting in higher revs. Alongside the quickshift 3.0 there is no gearstick...
No I'm not tbh, its on my list of things to have a look at before going back on the road. I was going to screwdriver and hammer it a little bit to see if it will pop in more... As much as I hate getting it in and out its probably worth double checking there is no debris blocking it
Been enjoying the car the last couple of weeks. Booked in for my first trackday 5th of September at Castle Combe. Look forward to meeting a few members from here and putting the car through its paces. Going to be a lot of learning between now and then, but it gave me the kick up the ass to...
Holy thread revival
On a 1.2L I found 16" fine but a little harsh and heavier to steer (182 alloys), I run 15" now.
I have 20mm spacers on the front and 10mm axle spacers on the rear. Everything clears the standard brakes, I have bigger Peugeot calipers and 1*2 discs on mine, plenty of room...
@ParsonsMotorsport Did you get it sorted in the end? Stood at Quarry to watch the CCRC Hot Hatch yesterday. Saw three Clio's running: Gulf livery, Ruffmans livery (great run on a Civic into Esses) and the green/grey wrap
It's a fair criticism. @T12 Why did you go for a 172 conversion originally? I personally love the noise it make (lots of low end and burble on idle) and that it has a spare wheel. My plan is to road trip in it and I would feel safer with a spare. I am also drawn to one-off's even if its not the...
The Good: Got The Bandit out to Haynes Breakfast Meet 6th April, plus I will be displaying at Food & Fuel w/ TDC 12th April. (First ever machine polish, not perfect but now looking so much better)
The Bad: Grew the minerals to tackle the damaged wiring front of the bay. What I thought was...
Welcome to the forum, great spec and the build (both the mk3 and 172). Although the least relevant upgrade, I love Pro Race 3 alloys. Took me a while to find a set, great looking 5-spoke imo. I live an hour out from Castle Combe and was looking for an excuse to go 👀
How are the track days at...
I use a Clarke 1700638 Pro238 (Adapter), Got it for about £50. It is massive compared to a wrench setup. I use a 1/2 breaker on it for things like hub nuts, wheel bolts, engine mounts and the like. Have a smaller povo spring torque wrench for the smaller bits...
Returning with my tail between my legs, started on the button first time for a couple weeks then returned to starting on second turn.
Replacing the fuel sender is next on my list to try, failing that checking the TDC loom further back for any damage (Mine had been cut up a bit on a previous TDC...
