What's the spec of the Golf? Rare to see a MK3 these days!
A quick spec/history of the car for those interested..
Originally built and raced abroad, it was then bought and further developed by Will McAteer and most recently Mark Shepherd, predominantly in the Classic VW Cup & pre 93s.
Bodyshell: The bodyshell has been chemically dipped and seam welded. Welded in cage. Fiberglass tailgate and bonnet and front wings. Polycarbonate windows.
Interior: Corbeau Revolution race seat. Red top battery. Racetec gauges and a custom made wiring loom. Lightened dash board.
Engine: 2.0l 16v engine (9a bubble block with KR head) fully blue printed, ARP rod and head bolts,Motorsport baffled and gated sump. Twin 45 Weber carburettors.
Gearbox: 020 close ratio 5 speed gearbox fitted with a Quaife ATB diff and 3.9 final drive. Sachs racing solid paddle clutch and lightweight flywheel.
Suspension: Fully adjustable Gaz gold dampers, Rose jointed top mounts. Ball joint spacers to correct roll centres. Seam welded front subframe and wishbones.
Brakes: AP Pro Race 5000 front calipers with AP304mm discs, mounting bells and brackets, Bias pedal box with remote cylinders and in car adjuster. All lines are Aeroquip.
Other bits: ATL FIA 60 litre fuel cell. Red top fuel pump. All fuel lines and fittings are Aeroquip and run inside the car. Lots of one-off custom-made parts including airbox. Quaife quick rack.
Car is left hand drive and weighs 870kg.
Car will be now using an ABF/bodies/dta s40 pro 😊
