My brakes squeak. Its damn annoying! How do I stop them squeaking?
Theyre fine when theyre cold, but once the car is all warmed up they squeak.
Is there any way to stop them squeaking or do io just replace the pads which are only about 40% worn.
Ive been thinking about uprating the...
hmmm. Next question.
For normal street driving (and I do like taking some reletively high speed tight bends on occasion)
What sort of difference would I feel between
a) Standard Shocks & 40mm Springs
b) Uprated Shocks & 40mm Springs
c) Uprated Shocks & 60mm Springs
I have a 2001 Clio and really like the rear lighting cluster of the 2002 model Clios.
Are their any issues with fitting a 2002 rear light cluster to a 2001 Clio?
Ive just gotten a reply email to a query I sent to my local Koenic Suspension distributor.
He was talking about springs which would lower my car by 35-40mm which was all well and good.
Then he mentioned 60mm springs but said they dont drop the car by 60mm but rather by about 35-40mm and were...
*How much does fuel weight? You would only need a couple of litres, not a full tank!*
I went with 1 litre = 1kg (as with water). Im not sure its the same tho but very close.
As for the correct bhp for the 172. I think it would be 169 because 124kW = 169 bhp
Im glad others are using the software too.
Ive heard that it is very accurate from people all over the web but Im not totally convinced because if you do a comparison with other cars, the 172 seems to slaughtering them...including a few ferraris and porsches.
Maybe we could get together...
Hiya sl*gGat,
Yep they are the ones from Darren.
Yep the original ones pop right out, but youll just have to shave the new ones a bit to get them in, not even a 5 minute job.
The new ones are much harder to get out again, but they do come out when you get the knack.
Ive decided to stay...
Tom. Im assuming you have a 3dr 1.2
if so then it should be very possible. Change the bumpers, wheels, rear boot spoiler thingy, and wheels and cosmetically you should be very close.
Im saving my pennies to colour code the bumpers and boot spoiler on mine . not quite a 172 but looks damn nice

Nevermind cosmetically, would it be possible (economically feasible) to transplant the 172 (2.0l megane...) lump? What would one need to consider to do this?

Okay, Im trying to get my head around all this now
My 1.4 is rated at 99 lb-ft torque at 3750 rpm, 95 bhp @ 5750
do I then use the formula hp = torque * RPM / 5250 like in the following.
hp = 99lb-ft * 3750 / 5250
hp = 70.71hp @ 3750 RPM
How would I then go on to so something like...

Hmmm, I suppose I could always try it one day.
Yep they do add Helium to the mix once they start doing dives deeper than 56m (this is the limit where oxygen toxicity becomes an issue, and also to help curb the Narcs)
For shallower depths (not more than 30m) Nitrox is used to reduce chances...
Captain Slarty.
Ive been pondering with this idea for a few days now, since this whole Ram Air Scoop discussion started.
What would happen if one connected a Cylinder* of Nitrox** to your engine just behind the airbox by means of a sealed pipe.
Now when needed in racing or 1/4 mile...

has the latest version which I havent tried yet...maybe more accurate (and now includes track tests on a variety of tracks and supports metric measurements.)
What is the difference between electric and metric bhp?
If one were to convert 124kW (172s rated power in kW) and convert it to metric bhp then one comes up with 169bhp (metric) is this then the correct figure to be using when one is using bhp in calculations?
