I'll be going for a simota i think. I dont really care what anyone thinks. It looks like a reasonable product for not too much cash. I really dont care about the 1 or 2 bhp a maxogen might add, i am doing it mainly for the sound. I dont want to lose any power though, and i do know from popping...
Actually i got a feeling the main difference between any future cup wont so much be weight any more, i reckon the cup is likely to have a bit more power - probably the 205 PS (202 bhp) being touted.
LOL, maybe i am alone in liking the 182 wheels.
I think most aftermarket alloys i see on clios suck, but thats just me.
My car must be fairly unique looking - it looks standard. :D
You are missing the point by a wide margin.
Its like Evo was saying in their FWD roundup, now forgive me that this wont be word for word, as the magazine is not in front of me right now, but I seem to recall that their main complaint of the Golf, is that it is a little too competent, and thus...
But if it goes faster around bends, that does tend suggest more grip. More grip does not always equal better handling - handling is more about feedback to me, and is completely independent to cornering speed. For example, a car that relinquishes its grip earlier but does so in a progressive...
I was considering a twin charger, but if I could do it cheaper then obviously that would be nice.... however, you do get EVERYTHING you need with that twin charger kit - brackets, and all the other bits and pieces... does this samco stuff come with everything you need?
Putting cheapo springs onto standard dampers (not designed for those springs) sounds like a recipe to bollox up the handling to me. Would you rather have looks or handling?
^^^ Spot on fella. Excellent post. The standard Clio handles very well indeed IMO. Mine doesnt even have the cup packs. People have commented on it. OK, it looks a little high, but as long as it drives well I dont care. Actually one of the reasons i bought the clio above other cars is because i...
Thats what i felt when i drove one. Very disappointng given all the hype they get on here. The kick in my 182 was stronger. I'd say most of the time, it was noticable, maybe not quite as much as a highly tuned big turbo, but certainly very noticable urge.
But as i said in my previous posts, it...
No because i still have it :p
I've test drove loads of cars lately. The Clio is a brilliant drivers car, I dont give a sh!t what anyone says. It won all its accolades for good reason.
I've got the new greenstuff pads.
At first i wasnt impressed - they faded easily. However, they've bedded in better now, and although a bit squeeky at times, they stop the car well.
I'm in two minds still though whether to go for DS2500's next time round, although to be fair, lately the greens...
Just a blueflame exhaust and green stuff pads and metal hoses at the moment.
A simota twin charger induction kit will find its way on in the next week or two.
Perhaps a remap sometime in the nearish future too to take advantage of the breathing mods.
After that, I'll be looking to replace the...
I agree. The 182 is an absolute legend. Why? The key is in the affordability.
Few cars can match its combination of standard kit, affordability to run, alongside what is, lets face it, very good performance even by todays standards and great fun handling. Its a practical go-kart, with air-con...
Not sure why people keep going on about build quality. We want a fun hot hatch, not a bland, boring, comfortable, gutless car.
If you want build quality why go for a renault at all?
Thanks for the comments.
As I say it does seem to have made the car just a tad nippier, its just the sound that i feel i dont get on with. Perhaps this is down to unrealistically high expectations, I dont know... not really sure if any sport exhaust would do it for me... I remember when rory...
So, I got the blueflame exhaust done what must have been approx 2 or so months ago now, perhaps slightly longer, and its been on the car long enough for me to form some fairly solid opinions and observations.
First off, lets start with the positives. It looks significantly better and more...
OK, i would add a poll but it appears you cant do it on this forum?? So I'll just ask anyway...
I am soon going to buy a simota induction kit, however, I am unsure as to which one I should buy.
Theres one called a carbon charger, which appears as though its a sealed unit somewhat like a viper...
To be fair, while a 1.6 is probably pretty decent for what it is, there is a 70 bhp difference between the cars, and no doubt with the brakes / suspension to match. Of course there is going to be a big difference :D
For example. i recently drove an MX5 1.8 - similar weight probably but this has...
You could try the simota twin charger filter. That one has a pipe that takes it away and places it in front of the battery where the temps are MUCH cooler. Not a bad price either, I might add.
Someone on here has the other simota one, not sure how good it is on the noise front, but i'm sure he...
I've got one.
It sounds ok. Not as good as I thought based on watching the videos though. Sounds kinda deep from inside, with a sort of raspiness when passing around the 4k mark. Then after it hits 5k it sounds kinda like the standard system but a bit more aggressive.
I dont think it sounds...
