I think I'll be adopting a similar stance. Rushed to get my 4 on release day and got the model with the signal issue. (Although it's never really been an issue as such).
As I'll be looking to buy SIM free I'll be happy to hold fire and let the craze die down a bit before sorting myself out.
I can get £175 for my 32GB 4 with Envirofone at the moment which sounds good to me. Not sure how much that will decrease, hopefully not much more than £20-30.
Good summary from The Verge.
Only a couple of weeks til the big event anyway. Well, the big event that isn't official but is widely believed to be happening. :o
Happy with my 4 in general but just lately the home button has been a real pig.
Would be nice to have a new phone now after having the 4 approaching 26 months now.
^^ This is pretty much my situation exactly.
Contract expired now though (well in a couple days). Joining the SIM only mob tomorrow on GiffGaff so hopefully that signal will prove much better. Several mates on the O2 network and they always seem to have full bar when I'm struggling so I'm...
Cheers Revels got it sorted. I'd searched Google for loads of guides and finally found one that helped. Connecting the iPhone to iTunes with the new SIM card was what I needed to do to complete the unlocking stage.
Now I can finally ball on a SIM only deal.
Hey guys,
Quick question. I've got an iPhone 4 and the contract expires Thursday so I'm going SIM only.
I've given Vodafone my IMEI number to get it unlocked. Do you always then have to plug it in to iTunes to complete the unlocking process? Or is it possible that the phone is unlocked?
The...
All set up. Didn't bother with Lion so still getting used to a few different bits.
Set up Twitter in notification center but it seems to be a bit bit and miss. I know Twitter had problems earlier so I suppose it could be that.
Otherwise seems all okay.
Sounds good to me! I've got the 2010 MBP model just the base specs. Been toying with a SSD but there's no real major speed issue and I'd probably rather put the money from the SSD towards an iPad or something else.
A little speed increase would be good.
Personally I'm pretty biased when it comes to Apple. I won't consider alternatives and that obviously has an element of loyalty towards Apple, but primarily it's down to the fact they make fantastic products so there's no need to change.
This thread has got me wanting to throw an SSD in mine now too.
This will come across stupid I'm sure, but is the only difference between a 120GB SSD and a 250GB one the capacity? Performance wise they'd be largely the same? I'm only using around ~70GB of my hard drive so figured I could...
You definitely need good eye sight to appreciate it fully. I was playing with one the other day and wasn't like oh s**t that's amazing. I have s**t eye sight.
Re: I have a geius appointment this evening
Why didn't you get Apple Care?
Well worth it. I've had my MacBook a little over 2 years now and have had to get a load of things done the past few weeks which has saved me loads of money.
I'd have to wait to see what it's like before forming an opinion. (If it does happen that is).
My priority at the moment is a new iPhone though too, so hopefully we'll hear about that first!
