Owned both, for hot hatches they are both at the top of their game relative to the time they were released. As that's over 20 years apart it the only comparison possible...
I've had 450 miles on a tank, mixed driving (mostly motorways some mountain fun roads)... No idea why Adam had made the comment above, genuine 35-36mpg over many tank fulls in my 200, as stated many times on here before :S
The original poster's list is junk, major gear ratio and suspension changes were not mentioned (amongst other things) - I drove 2x 197's and 2x 200's in the same day... Quite a significant difference IMO (all track and road testing tends to agree).
You're kidding me! The DC2 is a great car deserving all the accolades it gets, I come from a Honda background and have owned and/or driven most of the Type R family many times.... You get the handling and fun factor of a French hot hatch with the reliability of a Jap family car :cool:
This is a bit of a grey area as they did have some form of approval, I've lived near the Alps for 3 winter seasons now and never been checked by the police, in fact most people ignore the 'Snow Chains required' signs and drive around on Winter tyres - In reality you're probably fine, although...
Thanks for the helpful info, I'm sure that they'll be ok, especially as the serving lady never actually asked whether it was a Cup 200 and still came to the dubious conclusion from her 'web check' that they would not have clearance :cool:

I visited the local French version of Halfrauds and they told me that Autosocks were not suitable for the Clio 200.....
I'd checked the size (ref 645 for 215 45 17 tyres) and noticed that they did not have the size I wanted in stock. The excuse seemed to be there was not clearance to the cars...
I like the look of this Gordini, it's just a real shame that there are no Recaro seats as they are one of the favourite parts of my 200 Cup.
You also specified the Cup suspension and Speedlines, which certainly help it look (and feel) the part. I cannot help but think Renault missed a trick by...
