Id be very interested to get this done as i already have the omex and cams etc
how much for just the ITB setup (all makes?) and I know how much mapping would be
from reading other posts, i think i have the wrong sensor of the 2
it all points to the coolant temp sensor, its revs at 2k revs when hot which would be over fuelling and chokes down when light throttle is applied at 3k revs
I got a temp sensor but there is 2 yea? I got the one closest to the radiator, have I got it wrong?!
More defined symptoms after I just changed the coolant temp sensor- as soon as the coolant gets up to temperature it runs on 2 cylinders, almost exactly as the guage goes from 0 to half way.
know the one, i yanked it out when searching the engine bay few days ago and lost a bit of coolant.
yea it is in the engine bay, id rather have it in the glove box for obviosu reasons but would mean having to use the loom extension which would probably mean more problems
Id need the omex pc...
its been running fine for 12months though, you think it could lose its calibration?
Il go with replacing it for just now, see if i can get a new one tomo.
EDIT while i remember, is it normal for water temp guage to stay at 0 then shoot to half way when the engine gets up to temp when using...
coilpack, sparks tdc sensor and soon to be leads
edit- the cars sits at 2k revs when idling now(when its on 4 cyl) its obv very running rich as it used quarter of a tank in 10 miles.
when sensors effect fuel? I know the lambda does, il disconnect that tomo to see if it helps
air temp sensor?
well i just took mine for a wee spin (5-10miles) and used quarter of a tank running on 2 cylinders most of the time....
im banging my head against the wall now.
dan, take the leads off the coil pack and spray them (one at a time so you dont lose where they went) and also the connector going...
its FIXED!!!
it was the fuel cut off switch (red rubber top on it) which was broken, it wouldnt stay down. And also the white wiring loom next to the fuses was loose, which caused the fuel pump to be intermittant because of a bad connection.
something so simple as well, cant explain how...
the car has been running with these modifications for a while now, like 12 months so its a new thing.
I dont think its the lambda as it only happend when it was warm.
arrrggggggggggghhhhhhhh
Okay, new option for 'self-fix' is the lambda, anyone agree with benji?
ali, ava just want to do a diagnostic, he isnt really a mechanic.
cause its not starting its hard to get it anywhere
Reall wish I hadnt bought this f**king car now, if I dont get it fixed this week I am going to break it for parts. DO NOT PM ME ABOUT PARTS
Anyone know any good renault specialists in glasgow area?
okay went and cleaned the crank sensor cause it was covered in black grime, reattached it... nothing. It has been fitted with connectors not the new wiring loom. someones been cutting corners!
it still just turns over again and again. Ive disconnected the battery to reset the ecu and sensors...
Spot on with the diagnosis jesus,
I took the plugs out (which have done 20miles) 2 of them were like new, mild carbon deposits, 1 and 4 were black as the ace of spades... lovely!!
