Went along with rob to see the clio cup racing at croft. we got the bug and signed up for some track time which was £10 for 20 mins, and there was 4 sessions.
the first session lasted about 3 laps before it was called to a stop and this came in the pits...
Please search greg, this has been asked 500,000,000 times before mate,
the cup has thiner glass and has a wider track, air con was an option but most dont have it.
i soaked them in ease-it which usually works but didnt, then applied a s**t load of heat and then snapped another key.
FFS.
reason for the tie is cos i thought the rear beam wouldnt go down low enough to release the springs, i thought they might hold them just enough and they did...
Q: can you lower a clio without spring compressors?
i have the springs and the jacks and tools etc, just no compressors.
so i just went for it. loosened off the rear dampers and pop, with a little help from some cable ties out came the back springs.
so i fitted the new lower springs...
Re: eibatchs pics please
i had some gmax springs on my 1.4 16v. they were 60mm, gave it mental handling on the 16" rs wheels.
but very firm.
all i can say is 172's are lower than sntadard clios but the eibach's give a figure eg 50mm, i think thats from standard, so if your 172 is...
the grinding discs r designed for a purpose.
if you use a metal disc to cut wood or plastic it clogs all the holes up in the disc resulting in air burst or something where the disc shatters and youd prolly have a few bits of disc stuckin your face.

some really nice shots on here.
the ring video is also very good, shot in widescreen gives prolly the best perception of the terrain there.
i fitted mine with help from my dad, its just like swapping the cat.
2 nuts and bolts at the back.
theres a strange sprung loaded job at the front but as long as u keep it all in order its easy.
i have massive hands and really struggle to get into the front.
god only knows how Yoz...
Parked in disabled spaces outside boots at the wheatley hall road retail park (where tk maxx is)
had CS seatbelt covers on and a playboy thing on the number plate, 52 reg.
had some big wheels on too. im guessing it was a girls car.
i cant heal toe cos my feet r to big so i do big toe little toe, my gearbox is buggered so it have to blip to stop it crunching.
i dont see the point in normal driving, also double clutching has to be the slowest wat to change gear, it just makes no sence to me.
the lights are when you have low brake fluid.
its more obvious when your going round corners, as the fluid sloshes about.
the idles a common thing, if you go round the back you cn hear it spluttering, all normal. did you do the dash board trick.
