I think we should have a minimum requirement of 10 years industry experience for posting solutions in this section... FPMSL at defragging.
Sounds like a heat issue. What Dell laptop is it? Some are known for having a dodgy chip, but also it could be that the fan has failed.
Pub expert.
The maximum memory you can run on a 32-bit system is 128GB. The maximum you can run on a 32-bit DESKTOP is 4GB, less any Memory allocated to other resources. On a system with 2x1GB GPUs, that's less than 2GB available to your system.
So, back in your box...
As for running 4...
I think on this one you're both right - Vista and 2008 server use the same kernel but also share very different aspects on the surface. Some of which can be retrofitted to 2008 (I've got an equivalent of Windows Server 2008 Ultimate, running DreamScenes and Aero Glass) but some that can't...
Who the hell qualified you to make such sweeping statements?
You struggle specifying and building PCs, haven't come across VMware in any depth and then have the cheek to tell people how awful an operating system is, which granted has it's flaws but is FAR from a shambles?
Get back to your...
I <3 Server 2 compared to the Server 1/GSX Server. Although TBF Microsoft Virtual Server isn't too bad for it's day - Hyper-V is leaps and bounds ahead of that though, and much more flexible for SMB's that ESX/ESXi as it works on any platform compatible with Server 2008, rather than ESX and ESXi...
You keep saying this but until you wake up in the REAL WORLD with REAL BUSINESSES then you'll never see what the majority of businesses use it for - maximising their system utilisation and reducing footprint/running costs.
HA is great, but in the real world there are very, very few places that...
If your old PC is a very decent spec, it'd all fit. It doesn't, so it's old and past it. Junk. Best thing to do is keep it in one piece and see if someone around here wants it for an internet computer.
Just having a poo and a ponder on this, seems good to me, although as has been suggested if it's your backup site you may wish to put servers there also - SQL replication/secondary DC/Exchange dependant on link. Also, as far as putting Exchange into the DMZ, I wouldn't. Maybe use Squid in the...
Domain name isn't a problem, and I just need to know if your forum stuff will run on a Windows platform. You got all the stuff necessary to publish it?
How much data you talking? Email? Required services? May be able to help, as I've got space free and touch wood I've not had a successful attack in 10 years...
Yeah, no problem at all matey - it's easy enough to do, although if it's been 'deleted' or removed from the disk it's best to stop using it and get it to somewhere who does data recovery. I could have a go for you - you going on Sunday?
250GB one will work, and I know that it'll work because the 6400 uses a 2.5" SATA drive...
I chose that one as it's a tenner more for 100GB near as, but the 160GB one will work.
If you want, I can sort it for you - whereabouts you based?
Hear loads of this actually, couple of the girls at work have HP laptops and they've had chargers break, and one of the other companies in the group use HP laptops and get a few of them. Also had a BT engineer in the other day moaning that his laptop charger was ballsed, so had to use his...

One of those, and three/four screws to remove it and reinstall it.
And yes, OS = Operating System. I'd suggest it was...
Failure.
Not sure on Chips Away, but if it's just grazing it's fairly easy to touch up and wet sand, but then I got a small couple of scratches down to the plastic on my Megane bumper and the repair guy that does all my local garage's chips and paintwork said he'd want to respray it as he...
Yup, BGInfo for information on their desktop. As for where someone's logged on, it is possible. The ultimate free one is to check the file server(s) for open sessions. But there are tools out there that can query the domain as to the user's last logon location IIRC.
No, that's not typical of a knackered hard drive, that's usually a knackered OS. However, without the model of laptop I've got no hope of choosing you a hard disk...
Previous job was 400 HP desktops, but the job before that was around 14,000 Dell desktops. Lots of GX270s with a faulty capacitor in them, but other than that they were great. And besides, Dell usually sent an engineer the next day with a load of bits to fix them!
