Look like a good alternative, cheers.
So i take it you just switch manually between the connections you want to use on the unit?
Would this one do? I wouldn;t need any more than 3 ports: xbox, ps3, pc...
Right, my lovelies. Some of you may have seen the thread i made the other day about networking over the mains. Well i've had another thought as i found an old netgear router laying around the house so can i do the following?
I have a BT homehub downstairs that currently runs to my dad's...
I though MSN was no longer? I downloaded Windows Live Messenger instead and it's much beter than the old version i was using.

The router will provide the firewall won't it?
Cheers for the replies, i'll look into them.
Basically i want it for running the internet on the Xbox and PC so i assume it would be fast enough for my 8mb BB? Does it have any lag? Can't be as bad as wireless!
I saw it in action on the channel 5 gadget show once but can't remember the name of the kit used.
The bald guy had all sorts of stuff linked up to it such as toasters and kettles that would come on at a certain time of day etc!
Anyone tried it or seen it in action? I'm thinking of setting a network up to hook up my PC, X360 and eventually PS3 when i get one. Wireless is s**t for me, drops connections too often and is too slow.
Plus you have to buy the rip off adapter from Microsoft for the 360
Here's the sort...
Grrrr, so how long does the shop cover it? I thought in the UK we were supposed to have a 12 month warranty from the store if anything went wrong with any electrical goods?
OK, here's a slightly different question.
How would i go about replacing the current 120gb drive with a 500gb drive?
That way i could have two.
Could i install one, then install the OS etc on it and run it from there, then replace the 120gb with another 500?
lol, wha'ts eewww b3nje?! I don;t have a clue about speeds. Fast would be nice
FM i might get a 500 then. Was after a 750 initially so that i could back up my 320gb external plus have enough space to not have to upgrade for a while.
Wonder if i have enough space for two 500s?!
As above, kelkoo reckons the cheapest is £130 but i'm sure i saw them for less when i was slightly innebriated the other night!
Anybody know which sort will be compatibile with my motherboard? I've got an Asus K8V-X according to the box but i'm not big on all this SATA business etc etc!
Cheers
Depends what you want it for. In my case 1600 songs is more than enough for one outing! I use it in the gym and when jogging etc plus i can use my Nike Plus gadget with the nano.
If you don't need it for the gym or similar then the bigger one should be fine.
I used this site:
http://www.calo-hacks.com/
Used the software by Dark Alex, which i think is now called 3.40 OE
Noticed there's another custom formware now, 3.52 M33 but not sure if it's by the same people?
That site offers the same stuff as PSP hacks, i just find it clearer and easier to read
