MY valver does the same as do most i think. Dont hear of it happening much with the 172s. You would have thought Renault could have fixed it by now - French knobs. Anyway, its not your belt - my car certainly doesnt like it when i use the power steering when its cold. They revs drop quite...
Right two things:
1) Both my driver and passenger window seals are lumpy and bubbled - not sure how but they look awful. Asked Paul at infini car and he said they never kept them cosz most clios face this problem - any ideas?
2)Passenger door does not sit flush with body work - need to...
I get it all the time - i need to sort out my cold air feed and get my radiator fan fixed because it doenst even come on! MY car flies when its cold but is definately sluggish when really hot - and smelly for that matter. The difference is amazing.
Colder the better performance wise! But you cant rag a car when its cold! Yuo need a cold air feed running to your filter so that the air getting directly sucked in is as cool as poss....
That aint gonna fit mate - the standard fan is very small and fits quite snuggly itself - you would have to literally move the engine towards the bulk head to make it fit!
Ive just taxed mine. Spoke to Thames Valley Police and they told me that from the date the tax runs out - you have 14 days within which to buy new tax - after that the DVLA will have words. If your car is not taxed - you MUST NOT drive it coz if you do the police can just fine you there and then...
Nah, not expensive and with the help of a Haynes manual someone with a bit of experience should be able to replace both - first time tho? id take it to a garage - not much - £200 i rekon.
Yeh know wot you mean about the dynamique- i never see other red ones really - i like mine when she is polished - wish it was naples red tho coz i think thats the nicest clio colour...
Ive got aleak too - fortunately i know which pipe it is coming from tho - id try that before splashing out on unnecessary cash - and who knows - it may be the pipe that is easy to get to that is leaking!!!!!
Join - yeh i probably should - i find myself running rapidly low on posts (wot is is? 20 a day? Crap!) It must a pretty cushy job being the forum moderator! ;)
Hmmmm, im beginning to worry. I spend a lot of time on this webiste during the day at work. Im not permanentely using it however i do post very often. It worries me as nobody has said anything at work yet like:
get off that chat page or shouldnt you be working! Im sure im gonna get a...
Thats a pretty good price - but dont spend the cash if you dont need to - tbh, i went through this and spent money by taking the car to renault for a diagnostic check, got a vehicle electrician out and eventually just tightened the alternator belt up which sorted it! I wasted about 150 quid when...
Erm, replaceing the dizzy cap may be a good idea - im not sure how to check if that is working. This whole problem happened to me so often about a month ago until i got my alternator belt tightened tho... try that?
Dont take it to renault mate - get a vehicle electrician out - is your fuel pump kicking in? Check to see if there is a click when you try and start her.....
Pete, is it standard immobiliser? Have you tried locking and then unlocking it via remote on the key fob as couple of times? I know that sounds obvious but i forgot to do this once and so my engine would never start until i realised i had to lock and unlock it again!! Took me three hours to...
Good point 2 live - i was just talking about the express way of doing it! Jacking the eninge up is still a good idea tho - use a block of wood and make sure u undo the drivers engine mount first!! Then jack it up with the block of wood. You will get like half a foot more room then!!!!! You wont...
The alternator belt is a real pain to get to - nut not too bad if you know how. The best thing to do is to remove the bonnet (VEry Easy) and then remove the drives side headlight (again vry easy to do) You will then be able to gt your hands on the alternator belt. There should only be about 2mm...
Tbh mate, i would also make sure that your alternator belt isnt loose. Most valvers and willys have this problem and mine does it now. She used to stall but i took it to a mates garage who tightened up the alternator belt and now she never stalls - although the revs still drop and bounce back up...
