Main reason for wanting to change mine was to have the option of using the ipod so i got a sony HU that was made for the job, even that was only £100 so you don't have to break the bank to have quality, it is true though that the more you spend the better quality you will have.
i will then have...
Nice one....:)
just rang safe n sound, really helpfull guy says i might need the lead that plugs directly into the back of the dashtop display, left me a little confused so i'll probably take a drive on there this week and let him take a look, i really want to keep my figertip controls if i can.
Does anybody know a good garage to have the cambelt done on a 182 in the Bradford/skipton area of yorkshire?, on my previous cars i have used Midgelys in skipton but not sure about them with the 182, alternatively there is sunwin renault in bradford but i would rather someone told me they had...
Yeah sorry about that, it was what FAD said about the dreaded belts had got me thinking so i thought i would just ask, should have quoted him really, thanks for the info though, i guess that means me having mine done this year then.
i just checked with my brother, he says his was the last of the mk2 clio's and it was made in november 2000
i just checked the wiring loom we were sold.....which by the way was sold to us by some guy in motorworld who didin't seem to have a clue, it's got a yellow conector block which matches up...
funny you should mention that, i used to go there years ago when Andy owned it but i never went back since he moved over to Ireland and sold the business on....Cheers though i'll definately keep that in mind, i'm only 20 minutes on the road from there anyway......oh wait i keep forgetting i...
I agree completely with that, other than my brother in laws best mate who has a trophy i can honestly say that there just aren't that many CS's around up here in't wilds o yorkshire........or like you said, maybe i should just pay more attention :)
I know exactly what you mean about coming from something completely different to the clio's, the landy was good in it's own way.....well except for the part where i kept leaving people in clouds of diesel smoke....something i never did get used to really.
anyway i had only been looking for only...
his car is a 2000 model x reg, if the wiring loom we bought doesn't work with his then will it work with my 2004 182 as i have the same sony stereo waiting to go in my car...cheers
i wondered the same thing too?...i thought cobra fitted alarms to all renaultsport clio's when they arrived at the docks from france......unless someone had it taken out previous to you because of problems maybe?
I agree about the colour, it was what swung it for me, i was looking at this one and a deep blue 172 cup, in the end the colour had me, i had been wanting another black car ever since my rust bucket orion in the early 90's......that thing had more filler than original bodywork by the time i...
my brother recently bought a sony 415 ip head unit for his clio 1.4 sport and we got the converter so he could still use the fingertip controller, all the wiring went together fine but the head unit isn't recognising the renault's fingertip controller even though we followed the instructions...
and remember that if you unlock the car to wash it or work on it then make sure you open the drivers door otherwise it will sense no doors opening and re arm itself a few seconds later....hence the alarm will go off it you rock the car.
if you have an alarm you should have the little red LED next to your gearknob, the flashing light next to the rev counter and speedo is the imobiliser and the one next to the gearknob is the alarm and will only blink when you lock the doors, also if you have internal movement sensors that will...
i had this same problem on my brothers 1.4 sport model clio, in the end we figured out that you had to disconect the stereo from it's power supply to reset the unit, then it lets you try again but remember that you have to press a certain button and hold it after entering the code for it to...
Hey guys, does anyone know exactly when the belts should be done?, i've heard different mileages from different people, i've had my clio a week and it's got 34,500 on the clock, as far as i'm aware it's not had anything done so far.
Oh and i did forget to say that this is the full fat version, someone i know has the trophy model but i found the ride a little too harsh for daily driving so this was my compromise......but it still keeps up pace with my sisters Audi S3 so thats good enough for me.
Thanks a lot guys and thanks for the advice too, i've been waiting for a good day to take some pics and as it's sunny out i'll go and do them this afternoon so i'll have some up later today....
Thanks guys, i'm still learning loads about the car but i have found that waiting a little longer to lock the doors stops the beeping happening, if it persists then i'll probably upgrade the alarm system.
Hi all, just bought my 182 a week ago and i haven't been able to stop driving it since......what a rush :D, i drove a discovery before that so this is worlds apart in terms of fun.....and speed! but only up to the speed limits of course....:boring:......but then it's not hard to go faster than...
