yeah john i believe so because the sole purpose of that insurance is to cover the 3RD PARTY in case of an accident and not yourself which is why its the minimum legal requirement (now that 3rd party only is going).

^ technically they can get away with not covering you as you havent kept to the terms and conditions of having/giving the policy which state no racing ...
first off mechanical failure is not covered ... althought im led to believe for fire they should cover the rest of the car apart from the part that was the cause.
also he lied and changed his story ... thats something u cant get out of no matter what as everything u say when u call the insurance...
yeah upon reading that i would have to agree he shouldnt have been payed out ... BUT the way they went about that was outrageous !
