Results for a standard Williams look about right. 0-60 in 7.5, 0-100 in 19.1 and 1/4 mile in 15.6 seconds. That holds true for the Williams that I had and all the breakdowns are very close to AP22 runs that Ive got stored.
Just trying some more cars out now...
Ha! Well, Ill turbocharge mine, cut off the roof and take a dump!
In all seriousness, when i sell it, itll go back to standard. I have all the original parts packed away in the cellar (bar one, and no one would be able to tell it was modded).
Mine is both actually, which is why Ive lightly modified the car. Does a 1/4 mile as fast as a standard Cup and the suspension is a lot stiffer and lower than a standard Cup.
The 172 can be made to handle better than the Cup for the sake of a £100 set of springs. The Cup I drove yesterday had a softer steering feel to my own 172 on its 25mm lowering springs.
IMHO, the Cup looks great in its blue colour and those gorgeous wheels, but the difference in performance is...
The Cup isnt all that different to the 172. I drove a Cup for the first time yesterday, so ive now driven 172 MK1 and MK2 and the 172 Cup. I reckon the Cup is a more comfortable place to be than my MK1 172! Only thing its really missing for me is the air con.
Looks like yet another lard arsed "Coupe-Convertible". Think I read somewhere that they were doing a Clio CC for the forthcoming MK3. Looks like thats what your pic might be of?
Its CharlieCups car (him and his brother seem to go to just about every RWYB day at York), but I hardly ever seem him use the forum. IIRC, the exhaust is an Orbisound, but I wouldnt swear to this.
I think he lives in Sheffield actually, so if you can get hold of him you could have a look.
Zeemax - I know someone with a Red TVR Tuscan Speed-6 who is looking to sell up (hes after an XKR). Think dealers have been offering piss-take Part Exchanges so hes garaged it for the winter.
I bet the Tuscan is one of the few cars thatll turn more heads than the V6 Clio!
I went from a 1.4 clio to a 172. Definitely worth it if you like the Clio youve got. Remember that places like Trade Sales have some very cheap, brand new 172 imports in.
When I got my MK2 172 I paid about 2.5k deposit and then it was about £190/month for finance payments.
As you mentioned...
Cuppy / Jay - if you want to see what its like in a lowered 172, myself, abbs172 and CooperS Boys should be meeting up at the Bowshaw Inn (Sheffield side of the Dronfield Bypass) tomorrow. PM me if you want to come.

Saw a FRS yesterday pull into a shopping centre car park. Had a small crowd around it before the driver even got out of the car! Id rather have one than my 172 for sure.
It says what type it is in the owners manual. Fear not though, they are available at Halfords and cost no more than any other bulb. I changed mine quite recently.
Spooky.....this happened to my tyre wall on the ContiSports. Driving along on the motorway and it just blew out. Most annoying this was that I had it replaced at the roadside with another bloody ContiSport.
I went through a set of front Contis on a MK2 172 is less than 8000 miles. Ive had the Michelin Pilots on my MK1 172 for over 10000 miles now, including many many 1/4 mile runs in this time, and theres still loads of tread left.
Nice use of black electrical tape.
And youre just asking for someone to pour stuff down the exposed throttle body inlets!!! Bet drunk people piss into that when they walk past at night.
My local branch of Charlie Browns fit my springs. The ride in my 172 is pretty harsh, but thats on my local roads, which are in a really terrible state of dis-repair. I can live with the harder ride as the standard springs are pretty shocking.
If youre wondering why giving your 172/Cup class A drugs is a good thing, and why youd need 20 orders to make some, look here:

Bump!
It leaves an uncleared portion on my windscreen too. Will try and get a snap of the uncleared portion on my car tomorrow so you can compare.
Although, if your car is RHD, Id guess it has already been set up to wipe as much as it can...
