hi folks

i have been reading this forum 4 about a month now since i bought a silver mk1 172 , which is very fast but snakes about alot in this weather compared to other cars i ve ad (suppose its what you call power).In the past i ve had a saxo vtr/vts,clio rt /16valve and a fiat coupe 20valve.Anyway to get to the point i was wondering what bulb it was 4 the main beam on the mk1 172 pulled it out today never seen owt like it ,i am used to h4s an its not 1 of them.plus which aftermarket panel filter gives most power how much/where from.Not very good on computers so hope this turn out right cause i am bound to have more things to ask

couldnt tell you about the bulbs as i drive a mk2 172, and the lights are a bastid to get to on that, so i stay away.
As for filters, if you defo want a panel filter, there are alot of recomendations, i use a Green Air Replacement element, and it has been great so far. so thats my recommedation. And it was only £35, so u cant go far wrong. i think bmc may do one too now?

It says what type it is in the owners manual. Fear not though, they are available at Halfords and cost no more than any other bulb. I changed mine quite recently.

they are H1s fella and it just so happens i have 2 sets left of the cobalt blue ones for sale at £15 including P&P!!

ta dannyboy i really wanted a k&n but cant seem to find one ,so green it is...i think? the previous owner must have lost the original hand book to my car as the one i have is for the mk2 and i didnt think they were the same in the headlight area. i was acutually after some ring xenons or ultra xenons 55w ,not that keen on the blue look ,thanks smokey good value though
