Ill just agree with the others - very useable as long as you remember its a bit French (which youre used to) and a bit handmade (which you might not be).
I get about 19mpg on average, but then I dont do any motorway work in it.
What is the mileage on the one youre going to look at?
I have had a Hyundai Accident 1.6GLX hire car for the last three days, and could I get sideways? No. But I got in this vehicle from hell after work today, roared out of the car park with the wheels alight and......the engine management light came on and the power steering packed up! Just managed...
Ross (rmccardal) and I swapped over once when I had my FRP and his 182 was standard....that was a good laugh, I managed to get it on 3 wheels and he didnt seem too upset ;)
On the way back to my house we found a Volvo T5 thinking that he was something a bit special...unfortunately the FRP...
Thats a bit harsh mate. I think were all likely to defend the car we have. If you went onto your Megane forum and every 5 minutes there was a post about the DCI version being just as quick in real world surroundings as the Sport model, youd probably defend the 225 in a heartbeat - and thats no...
*Yawn* You seriously comparing a warm 3/5 door hatch to a Clio V6 again? Of course the 225 will be quicker, safer, cheaper....but f*ck me, how boring is that! If I was in the same situation as you and needed a MPV, Id buy a Cayenne.....because theyre better, theyre faster though low revs......;)
The problem with this forum is that things got broken down into so much detail, that people forget the car as a whole. I mean, on the V6, the chassis isnt great, the engine is unstressed and the gearbox is made from cream cheese, the interior is just as shoddy as the other clios and it is...
I think the majority of warranty companies will argue a claim with you for a while, its in their nature!
I have taken out a policy with Warranty Direct, which covers the scary items like the engine and (weak) gearbox, I hope *touch wood* that if anything else goes wrong, I can afford to pick...
People who dont have the thrill of V6 ownership will always think that its over-rated, because they once read a magazine article that said it had a standard interior, and the handling was sh*t on a track...
...but cmon, Ive had mine for 5 months and Im still getting my head around just how...
Check for:
Oil leaks near the gearbox - in fact, make sure everything about the gearbox feels ok, because theyre prone to going wrong for no apparent reason.
Also just have a look for the usual crash damage signs, make sure rear tyres have some grip left, check the discs/pads because these...
To be honest, you dont even notice it normally - it was only a close-up pic on here of someone elses car that made me think to check.
Perhaps a group buy from Ray?
There were the splitters mentioned in this http://forum.cliosport.net/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=6&TopicID=142523&SearchPagePosition=1&search=splitter&searchMode=allwords&searchIn=Topic&forum=0&searchSort=dateDESC&ReturnPage=Searchthread but Im not sure I can fit one without the original...
Going for the mk2 wheels just doesnt seem to make sense. They look very very very slightly better, but it means buying the wheels, ditching your 17" tyres and buying another whole set of Michelins - not cheap!
I think if I were to change, Id get a nice set of lightweight 18s or 19s (I am...
That would worry me too, except for the fact that I was looking at pics of my car and realised its disappeared! Im just left with some rubber strap thing on one side, and nothing on the other.
Are the splitters cheap and easy to fix back on?
