You need to remove the plastic cowling with a star key tool first. Then un plug wires and wip them out. easy peasy. You will also need to remove your seat belf mount which is a single star screw bolt.

Hot drawn seamless tubing is stronger, technicaly its not seamless its just welded so well that its as strong as a rest of the tube. (im a steel geek sorry)
I think a mild steel would be ok, as you got to bend and cut the stuff.
Any metal stockist will have the right stuff.
I found when I swictched to a 182 that it handled better maybe beacuse of tyres i dont know, but thats how it felt.
182 does look a bit different with a spoiler, twin zorst and different alloys. Get an 05 plate with a warrenty. Thinking of selling mine...
Paid £5,200 for my first 172 FF with 38k in September 2006
Paid £6,200 for 172 CUP with 12k on the clock in May 2007
Paid £8450 for 182 CUP with 20k on the clock in June 2007
I dont want to argue as we are all clio lovers on here, so lets just all agree that the 182 cup is the better car he he.. (kidding).
At the end of the day its entirley up to personal preference. Choose the car that is right for you..
