ah ok cool, well I'm on the other side.
I work for Cambridgeshire county council assessing the highway impact of planning applications. we so assess layouts of everything on the highway network.
but on the side I am now offering highways advice in Essex, so access arrangements.
its more about what scales people have on their scale rulers ;-)
I love it when I used to receive plans in random scales like 1:75, you wont find 1:75 on a scale ruler
still not had the chance to play with scaling yet, hopefully tonight. thanks for the info
All my drawings I do at 1:1 scale.
But yes I want to create a3/4 paper and add a viewport and then scale the drawing to say 1:200 or 1:100 etc...
I've closed down my laptop now, but I need to learn how it works. I'm fully self taught on CAD, never had a lesson so there's a few things I don't...
I am angry to find this helpful guide on the Belkin forum, turns out I had the ethernet cabld in the wrong port
http://www.belkin.com/us/support-article?articleNum=8179
I've already ran a cable from hh5 into my garage and currently I've got a hh4 in there as a WiFi access point. But it's really s**t and doesn't work very well. So I got the Belkin
I just purchased a brand new Belkin ac1000 wireless router to use in my garage, but am not getting any internet.
in the house is the BT HH5, and the ac1000 is plugged into one of the ports on the back. but just says no internet connection.
why!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
most you can adjust the sensitivity though, so that may help. its one of those things ill have to have a play with and see what works and what doesn't.
I'm not sure a 19" rack format would fit in my wardrobe which is where my current pc is. I don't think its wide enough, ill have to check. but I hear what your saying about temp change.
I'm assuming these nvr work with any ip cameras not just hikvision ones?
I note there are many on ebay

I was hoping to set up motion detect for a set area and just get notifications for that set area . Via...
Looks good and cheaper than a laptop.
What do you need to setup alerts? Anything special?
My current wiring is two ip cameras plugged into a router, which then plugs into a computer. I'm guessing that won't work with nvr ? It will want each camera plugged in separately?
Another thought, you said you review etc on mobile devices. What sort of quality output do you get on mobile devices? 1080p for HD viewing? Should you ever need to do something with the footage like give it to the police you want the best quality going.
It's a crappy old monitor but I have the one from the current setup so can just use that.
OK thanks, I will look into stand alone DVR units as that didn't enter my mind
None, other than generally keeping an eye on my house. My current setup is old and I would like to update it
So before making any form of purchase I just want to dot all the I's cross all the t's
So how is it connected, via WiFi or ethernet?
I'm assuming the stand alone DVR units only need Internet when sending alarms as you say.
I've not looked into the stand alone DVR units, but I'm assuming you just plug a monitor in and you need to get one with a decent output. Hdmi or something
I know there are many many threads about CCTV, so sorry to create another.
but I want to discuss setup rather than which camera to buy.
my current setup and camera is completely stand alone, so I have a dedicated desktop which I record onto which isn't connected to the web. my IP camera is a...
Birch air field near Colchester zoo, the main runway has been adopted as public highway so its just a normal road.
A really really straight, long road that's good for over a ton
ill get straight to the point I want to be able to send a sausage emotion in WhatsApp.
now there are millions of ways on google about how to do this, but I'm not sure I believe any of them.
anyone on here done and so a tried and tested method?
