Had a chat with ABP Motorsport at weekend, and the nice chap recommeneded PI springs for the 172, 25mm front and 15mm rear. He says that this would really tighten the handling/cornering, quoted about £210 fitted. Is this good, has anyone got these springs??? Also he said no manufacturers make...

Right now Iam bloody confused, my mates brother whos studying engine mechanics has said that if you put a magnex backbox onto my 172 it will reduce performance as it will loose back pressure, I really dont wanna loose any of my speed, so is this true??? Will it affect the performance
Colin - sounds cool, think iam gonna plump for the backbox, where did you get yours from, Is Halfords a good place to buy and get fitted? or are they xpensive/sh*te?? also does this increase your insurance??? as 172s aint cheap to insure in the first place!!!
Was on the phone to Halfords today to check their costs of Magnex exhausts. They quoted me around £180 for the magnex oval back box and around £340 for the cat-back system.

Thanks Black clio, seems like you know your stuff. Am I right in saying that the 172 has springs at back and not torsion bar??? and finally your saying that the Apex springs will work with my standard 172 shocks? and Koni will work with them as well?? I have not seen Apex springs anywhere in UK...
Black Clio - The blisteins sound cool, are they expensive, and do you know where you can get them??? In a dilema over which springs etc. to get, really wanna get the 172 looking abit more clio-cup and handling better.
Still confused about how much to drop the car by, what would be a good height that doesnt look too drastic, but still looks cool, and gets rid of the large arch wheel clearance...40mm and 60mm sound way too much, would 30mm do the job, not that keen on a ground scraping 172 you see...

seem to remember a post from Nick saying that if you only get springs, oyu will bugger up the arms(cant remember what they are called, struts???) and they will wear really quickly, do you know how much the whole suspension setup would cost and what make, sure this would be lots more cash
