i have tried that but i actually can not get into bios! its pissing me off! you turn it on and it basically is at the windows load up screen before the image is on the screen lol bloody annoying. my motherboard number is printed on my first screen when i load up, plus buliding it does help lol

Is there anyway of finding out a model of a motherboard? it is not on the motherboard, sorting a mates comp which is from shitty pc world.

sorted :) just flashed the bios back one. and its now reading 38c away to try half life again and check the temp

the bios says 6oc

its a 4600 x2 athlon

thats it running half life 2 i personally think thats to low and i could have a fault somewhere.

says cpu temp is 25oc that about right? or is that 2 low?

any good ones for monitoring cpu temp?

Roy do they go up further than 500 watt? buliding a mate almost identical system to yours and the recommend power unit was 600 for 1 7950 and 900 for 2 thats alot of power lol! i have the 500 watt one and tidys up quiet nicely!

you should get a label from ups to put on it like. it will have all the codes on it. you do not need to put anything in the box apart from the console, no harddrive or anything.

mate same thing happened to mine 2 weeks ago, its overheating, phone them, put it in a box and send it back. got it back 2 days ago and it now sounds as if there is one big bloody fan in it now, lot louder than it was before.
