She is very shiny and still looking as much so today, thank you for noticing. :)
Weekend after next I'll be giving it another wash and layer of sealant for the winter.
I know mate, don't worry I'm not feeling overly sensitive or anything and as you say black/silver does work nicely on a silver or even black car. I fancied a gamble and actually for me, I feel it works but I understand it won't for all.
For reference that's your opinion! lol
Looks like the same style as hundreds of modified cars since about 2006! Don't get me wrong it's a nice looking combination but it's a very safe bet. Hence why my Lupo looked like this back in 2009 because it going to look decent by default.
With...
That's fair enough, not everyone is going to be a fan. Like I say, pictures don't really do it justice in terms of size and stance as the wheels aren't actually small but obviously any wheel with a dish and only being 15" they're not going to look massive. The colour of course is totally...
I've done the black centre with silver lip about four years ago and it's one of those looks that works by default but not very original.
The car is actually lowered 40mm already and any lower wouldn't really be practical as a daily car. Actually looks lower in the flesh than the pictures do it...
Having fitted my new wheels and springs, I decided to give my Clio 172 some love and get it partly prepped for the colder months.
A friend of mine runs his own detailing company, Serious Detailing and has a range of products that I've been testing out. In terms of looks and pricing they are...
Well there's been a bit of an update on the cheap Clio 172. I'd been unsure what to do with the wheels as the grey originals were kerbed and I just wasn't keen on the colour anyway. I was considering a refurb but couldn't decide on the colour, then I started looking at wheel/tyre packages. So I...
Yeah it's not as tall as you'd expect although like any SUV/4x4 it's tall enough to tip over if you drive like a mong.
It's actually really nice to get in something call and spacious though, I can see why people like these kinds of cars although I'm hate a lot of the pretencious SUVs like the...
If my Mrs gives birth to a child large enough to drive then I'm out!
Child birth is like watching your favourite pub burn down as it is let alone a giant baby!
That's kinda what we had in mind or at least to the point where it's not worth worrying about.
In my mind I like the idea of keeping it until the Mrs wants something else and it's an older car, then whacking some offroad tyres on it and going off roading. Being the 4wd model it's got a heftier...
It's a tricky one with Dacia and getting them cheaper as they will not offer any discounts so no buying from brokers and no discounts through dealerships. You could in theory buy an ex-demo model though I guess.
Then again buying any car new vs pre-reg or 2nd hand will always throw up that...
I'll have a read of that when I get home mate. :)
And yes there is a certain charm to their simplicity, one of the reasons I feel it kind of has a bit of character to it. Personally I don't think I could live with the Access models as they are completely basic but if I wanted to go soft-roading...
That is an important question. :)
Normally I say day-see-a so people know what I'm talking about then in a completely fascinating car bore kind of way I then say 'Did you know it's pronounced Dat-chee-a' and at that point people lose interest hahahaha.
Actually it's surprising how intrigued...
Yeah it is very hard to stick to that 2,500rpm limit as like you say you find yourself in 4th gear by about 30mph. Then again the manual suggests pulling away in 2nd gear so that does kinda help in getting things moving from a stop. In gear though I'm not finding it too bad. Just have it up a...
It's not as monstrous as you think mate, apart from being tall it's similar in terms of size to something like a Focus/Megane estate car.
Also the dci 4x4 has a kerb weight of 1,300kg and the Megane dci estate is about the same kerb weight so this car isn't ridiculous in terms of size for a...
Haha Gally's ok really. Having three cars to myself is a bit unecessary but if I had the money I'd have an entire collection of cars, strangely mostly Renaults.
Honestly, have faith in a fellow RenaultSport fan that the Duster is so bad it makes you suicidal. It's a brilliant contrast from driving a rather noise cammed 172 every day! I'm not the only person won over by this model, Karl from Twingo133.net sold his RS Twingo for one and is chuffed to bits...
Styling is subjective although I find it odd that you find it so visually offensive when it's not paritcularly radically styled. Like many other cars you could potentially not notice even drive by.
As for depreciation, read the rest of the thread before assuming you know the details of what a...
Well I'm sure the same could be said of many things other people buy compared to one person to another.
That's called personal opinion.
Strange you compare it to the PT Cruiser or Fiat Multipla when both of those cars are styled to be unusual where as nothing about the Duster is overly...
Well I'm pleased and the Mrs loves it, since we bought it together it had to have a bit of compromise but I'm pleased to be driving something a bit different to all the other mum tanks out there.
Also, I've still got my own 133 as well as the 172 and 225 so I'm not lacking something else...
Coz it's a giant baby!! lol
Well we wanted a bigger car, we've always had small hatches and we actually had minds set on a Clio III. Then saw the Duster in the showroom, test drove and fell in love with it.
For once it's nice to have a big boot, proper space in the back for adults etc. Plus...
We weren't in the market for a car of this nature at all, the Duster won us over from the Clio III or Megane III.
Personally I dislike the look of the cars that rival the Duster such as the Yeti or Qashqai.
Must agree Daniel, if you're very worried about depreciation then you don't buy a new car. I mean 20% VAT off the price as soon as it's driven but like you say, lovely feeling knowing you're the first owner, picking the spec you want etc.
I'm intrigued to see how the Duster fairs in the...
It's not really a weak justification as that's £3k more for a 2WD petrol Qashquai, the 4WD 1.6 dci Qashqai is actually about £25k although no doubt massively more specced up than the Duster ever would be.
Other people have mentioned depreciation and guess what it depreciates about the same as...
I suspect Dacia/Renault have been very clever with how they've gone about the aicon option, it's only available in the top end Laureate model so with the dci engine and 4WD you're look at about £15k.
The cheapest diesel, 4WD model is about £2k less than that on the road though.
I can't see the pic but personally thought of Dacia as some random Eastern European brand made of bean cans.
Renault have owned them since 1999 and been driving the range in most of Europe anyway. All I can say is next time you're ever in a Renault dealership, just go have a look round one...
