I've heard that the Autoglym HD wax is very good and you can get it off the shelf in Halfords which is handy, especially if they have a 3 for 2 offer on.
I have a couple of Poorboys glazes and they're really nice products. I will hold my hands up and say that the Dodo Juice range of waxes are...
Well after a year of ownership my 172 got what I'd consider a proper detail.
I had intended to not get prissy about it and actually decided I'd let the local hand car wash look after it. It had been through hundreds of car washes in it's 10 year life so what harm was it going to do having a few...
Just don't get sucked in with the whole 'if it's expensive it's the best and will make your car look better than everything else'. I'd recommend Collinite either 476 or 855 for lasting ages and being about £20! I've used more expensive waxes which are lovely to use but for a day to day car you...
It was £1,200 for the Cam/re-map package, plus I paid extra for the auxiliary belts and dephaser. I then added the induction kit and one of the engine mounts was knackered so I had those replaced although they didn't charge any extra for fitting either.
It wasn't cheap but a good percentage of...
Aaah I see, I hoped that's what you meant haha. But yes, it's a really good result and the car drives so well now. I would imagine just swapping out that induction kit possibly brought it up by 5-10bhp anyway.
I'm not sure which cams they are I'm afraid, I just opted for this package : http://www.k-tecracing.com/power_upgrades_package_details.asp?id=5
Do you mean silly good or bad? lol I was quite impressed but don't forget I've gone from a rather pants induction kit to this one ...
Well rather than keep updating my thread in the media section I thought I'd do a proper project thread with the work I've done or had done so far.
Originally a close friend bought a 2003 Clio 172, good service history, good condition and about 55k on the clock. Very little needed doing on the...
That is nice and low mileage especially for a 2005 plate.
Not all megs low mileage cars are just left standing and unloved. My 225 has been serviced as it should, stored properly and has done roughly 450 miles a year since it was new in 2006!!
Well I thought I may ask those that have experienced it as if it wasn't for the info I got on here I wouldn't even have a guess as to what it was anyway.
Do you know M.C?
Well as per my previous post, my engine is making some what diesel-ish noise at the moment with a slight ticking sound. Engine is driving fine, no noise inside the car and no warning lights or problems starting, from info on here and the use of Youtube I'm pretty certain it's the dephaser.
I've...
Yeah K-tec have said they'd do it for what seems to be about the cost of the part.
Looks like I'll be booking the car in for camshaft updgrade, will have the cambelt, dephaser done as well so should be running nicely and a bit more powerful by the end of that.
Thanks for the info guys, sounds more and more like its exactly this.
I was just looking at K-tec's website as I fancied a power upgrade. See they do an uprated camshaft upgrade which includes the cam belt and can have other belts done. Not sure if that includes the dephaser but guess if I opt...
Thank you mate I may pop along to my local mechanic and get him to tale a look.
Would be a b!tch if it needs a cam belt as it was changed not that long ago.
Now it may be me just being over sensitive but my other half picked me up in my 172 and the engine sounded like it was running rough. The car had only been running about 15 minutes so hadn't been sat in traffic or on a long run heating up.
Now I checked the fluids, oil, water etc all fine. The...
Well that's a bit bent of Renault but not entirely surprising.
My Mrs did actually buy the new bolts and key but hasn't fitted them in case I wanted to take it back.
Thanks for the info guys. :)
Bit of a random one but basically I lost the black key for undoing to the centre cap on my 2003 172.
So the Mrs popped into Renault to get a replacement thinking it wouldn't be too pricey. Apparently they don't sell those keys anymore so you have to buy the new one with four new bolts too, for...
Couple of updates to the 172. Had a sprayer friend of mine spray the door bullets body coloured for me as the ones on the car were sprayed black and not done especially well.
Next up I had a go at wrapping some of the interior parts with some vinyl my mate gave me when I bought the car. The...
Thank you for the reply mate, went back over the fuses and one of the small 5A fuses had blown. Not in the middle but by the foot of the fuse so wasn't that obvious.
Breathing a sigh of relief that it's started up lol
First turn of the key and the dash lights as normal, go to turn the key to start the engine and nothing, doesn't make an attempt to even turn over.
Only thing that happens is a whirring behind the dashboard, the speedo needle judders, and the warning light flashes. Car will not lock either...
I have a Griffin Survivor case as I like to feel that if I dropped it, it's not gonna break so you can't really beat it for protection. Not the most handsome of cases though! lol
Had a result, the Mrs is a teacher and gets a 14% discount on all Apple products.
So I got an 11" Air, i7 processor, 8gb memory and 256gb of memory. A bit higher spec than I expected but works out a similar price as the spec I was thinking anyway and should last me nicely too. :)
Supernatural is a really nice wax to use and lasts really well as you'd hope for what it costs.
I also rather like their Pro range of waxes which are part wax part sealant for extra longevity. Use the Blue Velvet Pro on my Gordini.
Gutted about this game as was really looking forward to it. I mean it doesn't have to be complicated, just tense, decent graphics and Aliens coming to f*ck your day up.
Sounds like they've made a total hash of it!
Well looks like I'll be investing in an Air tomorrow. I have an iPad which is great for what it is but I don't find it that easy to use as something to type replies on or have conversations on line with.
This is something I do with my work laptop but since it was updated I now have the same...
