You can normally manually operate the locking mech with a screw driver to close it up. IME if you get some decent lubricant and operate it manually enough, they free up on most cars. May be a different case on the megane though.
Surely there's not much to it that will require a guide?
My only advice is to get someone like @Budgie who has taken apart more 172's than most of us have had hot dinners, I'm sure he'll write you something quick up.
I still really like it. (the car) It's like this ph1 ingrains something in you.
Like the head unit too... What happens should you need to press your hazards though? :blush:
Looks proper awesome. I have a real soft spot for these as they're just a bit nuts. I remember sitting in one of the press cars at some show my mum got my tickets to as a kid and thinking "how do these people make the corsa?" lol!

Ph1 sport interior. (seats and door cards)
Dual optic headlights
Ph2 172 16" alloys
Ph2 rear lights
40mm lowering...
