Check the alternator control live hasn't snapped but most likely a new alternator needed. When you change it be sure to fit a new aux belt kit to... do it!
I've driven both the 200 and the 1.2tCe GT .
Honestly, the RS is the quicker car (obviously) but if I had to buy one with my own money and for my needs I'd honestly go with the GT
If you can stretch to it then Mark Fish will do you well and then there's Fred at BTM and Dan at 519, both of whom have built very competitive F4's for use in various competition series.
I'm no engine builder so I won't give you any advice other than these two snippets:

l had exactly the same thing with a Scenic earlier today which sent me mental looking for the AC212 command to allow me to fill the HP pump... it's only the low pressure 1.5 so it doesn't have it but I was going stir crazy trying to find it. Sometimes you just need to play with it (Fnaarr Fnaaarr)

Yeah I'd sooner have a good single malt myself but when in Den Haag on Queensday (when I was last there) you have to go along with such things and trust that the nice Dutch lady isn't trying to rape you for body parts hehehe
Unless there's an issue with the ECU triggers this is most likely a faulty CTS.
Also, ref the coolant bleed issue you pm'd me about. Bleed it when its cold, put the bolt back in and then start the engine (holding 2.5k rpm until it achieves temp).
The only way you can really tell the condition of a TPS is to look at it 'electronically'.
It may not be physically damaged but if faulty could be telling the ecu that at idle the pedal request is still for 14% (just an example) so the revs increase. It could also be a few other things such as...
