I know what you mean. I did a half lap of shame when my bonnet went through my screen.
Well, you can at least sleep knowing you’d pulled a decent gap on him.
Span there myself a few years back in the wet, cold tyres coming straight out of the paddock. I went the other way onto the grass and miraculously managed to keep it out of the barrier. Hope it's a simple fix.
I've found @Touring_Rob to be incredibly helpful. Though we've never met, I've seen enough of his posts to form that opinion. I wouldn't judge him based solely on how he types a reply – we've all rushed through responses when we're short on time but still want to help.
I recall a time when...
Are people still fanatical about Apple since Cook took over?
My first Apple computer was a G3 iMac in Bondi Blue - I still have it. Then, I got a G3 desktop - I still have that too. I continued through G4 and G5 models before transitioning to MacBooks and iMacs - I still have some of those as...
Well, they're racing and are brutal. I think my current car has a standard clutch that's running 226 hi-comp engine, so it's not a given that it'll go.
I haven't pushed mine yet to be fair.
OEM clutches are not designed for the ass-whipping they get on a track though. They can take it for so long. My SACHs took 5 years of beating. Horses for courses.
Driving is about the feel of the road, the relationship between man and machine. These cars were built to stir the soul and you're about the give a piece of it away.
R.I.P.
Is that the original colour on those Turinis?
I love that combo. Works really well. Mine are a Dark Anthracite (none factory colour) and I think they’re too dark. I’ve was thinking Silver but this works much better.
J P Cages and SW Motorsports seem popular choices. Mine has one from Single Source Motorsport - https://singlesourcemotorsport.co.uk/products/renault-clio-172-182-rear-half-roll-cage
Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.
It’s so fast. It’s also really good in and out of corners now. The gripper just slingshots you around. Really capable car and I still haven’t driven it flat out yet. 🙈
I assumed that's why you opted for standard rear pads, Tony. To be honest, the brakes performed great on the track. I used to run CL6 and DS2500 on my old car and they were too aggressive, so you had a really good setup there and I learned a lot from that. I switched only when testing a harder...
I've consistently used DS2500 on the rear brakes and DS1.11 on the front, but I was pleasantly surprised by the car's braking performance, so I decided to leave the setup as it was until they needed replacing.
I have a brake bias valve so should only need a little adjustment.
Another trackday looms so time to check the car over.
The plan was to change the oil but Opie Oils/FedEx managed to lose it. 🤦🏻♂
So, I addressed the rear pads, one of which fell out at the last trackday.
Removed the old ones.
Standard Brembo pads - fitted by previous keeper - and they...
Spending money to keep them in tip-top condition is money well spent, in my opinion.
I've been driving mine for 10 days now. I do this periodically to stop myself from going mental.
Back and forth to work, over the moors at the weekend - I just love driving it. I collected my new Sportage...
Bite the bullet and get a new kit - https://renaultpartsdirect.co.uk/parts/exterior-parts/renault-clio-172-182-front-door-window-seal-kit-lh/
Renault still sell them.
As above a diagnostic will pinpoint which sensor or system is causing the issue.
A simple check in the meantime would be to make sure the ITG induction kit is perfectly sealed. It might be causing an air leak. Incorrect air-fuel mixture, would confuse the ECU (Engine Control Unit) and trigger...
They know their stuff, that's for sure. I was looking at an LG TV in their shop and I asked him about online deals and the guy said "to be honest Jon, go directly to LG as it'll be cheaper". That's service for you. I occasionally go in for cables and to look at stuff, but it's right in the...
I've just bought a 55" Nano Cell 4K TV directly from LG - https://www.lg.com/uk/.
They offer a discount for creating an account, plus there are some really top-notch deals 24/7/365. I couldn’t find a better price at Currys, Richer Sounds, etc., and they deliver directly to your door within a...
@FrogJam Motorsport said mine popped out easy enough. One bearing was fairly newish, the other looked original. As a rule of thumb I’ll avoid dipping anything for a prolonged period that has a hi-torque thread or bearing face. In the case of the calipers, I left the piston in place until the...
