as long as it aint a new typre r then go for it. New one looks too much like a bread van! Get an import with all the toys and you wont look back. jap quality is better than anywhere else and you get more for your money (including more power!)
I love the Clio but yearn for an MR2 turbo (when...
if you think what the competition is for the Clio 1.2 16v then you realize how good a car it is:
lets see, you could have a Corsa (yeah right) a new Micra (mmm, let me think), a low spec Yaris (I doubt it- maybe the t-sport for 3k more!)a Saxo (just that little bit tooooo common, and imho...
I would have thought all that sounds like an engine transplant. Please say you HPId the car b4 purchase? Check the engine serial numbers? Ring the garage where the car has been supposedly serviced and ask them what work has been done to the car etc. Cover your back and if all goes tits up sell...
if u havent sprayed proffesionally b4 then dont even think about it. Strips need rubbing down so they are smooth (or buy some 172 side strips) colour matching is an absolute dog on the Clios, and for apaltry saving of £200 it just aint worth the heartache of making a complete arse of it...
best getting under the car and working your arm up to the catch and pulling as hard as possible on the wire, worst case senario is the wire has snapped (doubt it) then you just have to feck about until you can unhinge the lock. I managed to get inside my mates a while back but it was a stretch...
I was given the impression Donny was crap this year? Can anyone tell me if it was actually worth going to.
As posted on one of the other forums the whole show was full of "wombat(lol), ming-dom and other japanese styleee rip off kitted corsas"
Was this true, apparently there were only...
i look at them more as clear light clusters cos they definately aint lexus ones! (and I have some) can do a pic of mine which is Sunburst Yellow?

got mine done 40mm on spax and they are fine. Only thing is there is a slight clonk when changing direction quickly from the back but this happens on 4 other clios lowered so I aint bothered
Are there any meetings in the North East. Sent off my membership last night and was wondering if anyone is going to the French car show? Or if there are any meets up here?
Could we get a list of North East people together and arrange a meet?
Any ideas PM or mail me @ karlcdawson@aol.com
you think?
Cant say I can see why they are needed, one of those things that cant be all good, nothing in the world gives you better mpg, lower emissions and better response without ANY drawbacks.
Maybe thats just the synic in me?
heard some silly claims that are possible with the DCi 80, and in all of them a larger intercooler is mentioned. I woudl think from past experience with the Astra the best thing you can do is fit a larger head gasket (reducing compression) winding the boost up a bit and fitting a better...
they need and oil change every 10K at the most, mine is soooo much quieter since i started changing oil every 6k, and I use semi synthetic and its better (and yes, that does mean better than fully synthetic - I dont know why but it is)
Its amazing just how many running problems people are having with the Clio, I mean, my Astra works perfectly day in, day out, no problems at all, or any of the other ones at work. Yet the Clio, feck me is it badly made, used to want a 172, now looking at Scooby land (maybe start with a 2ltr...
its bloody 1.4 corsas that are the closest match for me atm, think i am about 9-5 with one particular oine atm. vtrs are a VERY hard fight and vts are just too much to try.
i like to race anything but like the twisty stuff more as its more skill than just power. get killed by most things in a...
what is RFS. If its your finance payments it only comes back to bite you later on when you realize they have marked your credit report and you cant get credit after that. Took me 4 months to get a company to amend my record due to a similar senario.......
mmmm, whoever it was started this thread..........
In reply, you are falling into the same trap that you are complaining about. You have lodged personal views on a public forum which will, as the forums have been designed to do, be replied to, by people who also have differing views.
Had...
Make sure you remain calm whilst sounding like a man about to kill them though, always makes you look/sound so much more deadly when you remain outwardly calm.
You do really need to have one hell of a go at them for this though, dont wait a few days, make sure they know they have done wrong
that said why is the mot after 3 years? My company car wil be on 100K by then, my Clio might be on about 30K, something smells a bit iffy to me there, surely the Astra should have one WAY before the Clio?
Surely an MOT should be like a service, every X miles or 12 months? Just a...
if you are after standard size check with your local dealer (ie renault) they were alot cheaper than any local tyre "specialist" when I got mine last year, pity I bought 17s 4 days later
