Restoring Little Bluey - my 182 FF ClioSport in Racing Blue

Cheers Jon. I’ll drop you a message tomorrow reference seat airbags.

Restoring Little Bluey - my 182 FF ClioSport in Racing Blue

In between the seats I did a few small jobs which were equally important. To me anyway. I’d acquired a few genuine parts like a rear wiper blade, aerial mast, badge grommets and front splitter. Mast on. The rear tailgate had no grommets so the previous owner had wrapped some foil around...

Thanks. I bought them off DMFX in Darlington. A lad I know sourced them.

Restoring Little Bluey - my 182 FF ClioSport in Racing Blue

Cheers Nick. I really want a Trophy in Racing Blue 😂 I’ll probably swap the subframes though as with the Jon Foz x-low frames, the seats don’t centre which is already doing my nut in.

Thanks. I got them from Universal seat belts via EBay. 25cm. Here’s the link https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152323944828?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=bLFICTY7Qp2&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=Unwx-nP3Rjy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

That’s the seats done. Much easier the second time around. Only the seat belts to swap over but CBA as I’ve felt a little flat this week. Thank you for reading.

Restoring Little Bluey - my 182 FF ClioSport in Racing Blue

Up early to whip the old seats out and fit the Recaro’s. Drivers subframe in. Then I assembled the seat, runners, side mounts and attached the seat belt receptacle. And that’s the drivers side done. Just the seat belts to change and thread through the seats. Not going to lie, it was...

Dropped the old girl off today for her MOT. Passed with flying colours! No advisories. Happy days. Now to crack on and get the seats in before detailing and badges. Lots more to come............

Restoring Little Bluey - my 182 FF ClioSport in Racing Blue

I’ve had a lot of stuff off them over the years and never had a problem. The issue is they’re understaffed and can’t get on top of the orders. This gasket sat at DPD and was marked as delivered. Took 4 emails, to no avail, then an old fashion phone call, with a rant to finally get them to look...

Cont….. There’s so many adjustments it’s really easy to get the alignment of the tips exactly how you want them. I like to have them just sticking out. While I was there I replaced the Lamba sensor with a genuine one. I know these are slightly cheaper from 3rd parties but I prefer to get...

Restoring Little Bluey - my 182 FF ClioSport in Racing Blue

With the arrival of new parts and the sunny weather, I figured I’d get my finger out and do a bit. I didn’t have a lot of time due to the grandkids birthdays so I refitted the drivers side skirt trim. They used to be Monaco Blue and in amazing condition so I had them repainted. Forgot...

Recommended 182 Clutch for track car

Yeah Helix or Sach’s Paddle variants are fine. The lads who I go racing with are using the latter in TDT/Club Sport Trophy. I used the Sach’s organic plate for my dedicated track car and it took a beating for many years without issue. I’m sure there are plenty of other options.

    182 Fake Racing/ Track car

I was chatting to a lad at Silverstone who recommended the MRF tyres. Are yours ZTR? I’m assume they’re medium/hard compound?

Restoring Little Bluey - my 182 FF ClioSport in Racing Blue

Update. So after having a standard 182 and a race prepared 182, then selling them on, i was torn on what to do with the RB. Should I sell it and then use the money from all 3 cars to get another fast road car with track capability. I‘ve had the R’s and N’s but got bored and sold them on. But...

When you have children your priorities change. It’s hard enough bringing up kids without fannying about with old cars. Sad to hear but you can now throw your energy into other things.

  25. Mr Underhill

    N/S driveshaft change.

Yes to all the above. You don’t need any sealant. Hub nuts are 180NM. Does the replacement shaft already have the gaiter clamp fitted? If not, just be careful when putting it back on the new shaft as it’s easy to distort the rubber gaiter, which will mean a leak. If you drop me a message...

Best place to find quality new or refurbed calipers?

CL6 I found too bitey. They were either on or off. Better on bigger, heavier cars I reckon, not a 920kg 182. Pagid RS42 had a better feel than the CL6. More Linear but didn't have the same stopping power. Suffered brake fade with these. DS1.11 best all round pads i've used (DS2500 in the rear)...
