My lowered racing blue trophy pics

Really shows how cr*p the 182 wheels are! Turinis are spot on. That must rub like f**k on the 205's. I know mine did.

So what's all this about a strd airbox being better than ind kit??

A maxogen would make a difference but doubt anyting else without a decent heat sheild. It's too close to the engine so sucks in all the warm air.

How much camber do people run?/How much recomended.

Mine's on 1.3 neg, good compromise but she does squirm a bit...part of the fun. Tyre wear is fine.

    How a 182 should be...

We was having a look at his photos in his office. One of which his 3 clio cups that won the 2000/01 season. It's great to see, and all the winners reefs that go all around the workshop. So much histroy in such a small place.

M3 CSL - Meets Brazo and Rich!

What about the carbon roof, can you touch those with polishers etc, like the metalwork?

    How a 182 should be...

Yeah a few local guys use him that have renaults. He does a lot of servicing for people that aren't on here. A lot of his time is taken up with prepping the cooper works racers.

    How a 182 should be...

Was at Mr. Fish's gaff yesterday gettng my camber adjusted and this was there. It's been posted on here before but it's now got new goodies. Ledas, cage, ONE seat (good man) and f**k all interior. Oh and big brakes. Nice. Check out the camber on the fronts!

Where in the south east are you?
  21. CHRIS172CUP

    What suspension??

Seconded! There should be a pinned review of each coilover, these threads pop up everyday now! No offence to clio sport 172.
  22. CHRIS172CUP

    Annoying Things about your Clio??

Nothing bothers me about mine, it's mint. Could do with buckets though for an extra 10bhp through the corners;)
  23. CHRIS172CUP

    springs or coilovers

Talking of handling and quality of spring/dampers...you slam on the anchors from about a ton on the standard setup, then try the same with a good set of coilovers. Braking is much better through the corners too, the car stays in control and doesn't get as tail happy.
  24. CHRIS172CUP

Is it possible to get headlamp washers to work in a cup bumper?

It won't be a real cup if you do it...next you'll want ABS and xenons!!

    Help on lowering 172 cup

Apex won't lower a cup as much as a std 172/182, I tried it but it is the cheapest way to do the job. That's if you're just after looks. Coilovers are a much better buy but I can only comment on H&R.
  26. CHRIS172CUP

    springs or coilovers

By far the best thing to buy for these cars imo. Can make such a difference in all areas, especially track driving.
  27. CHRIS172CUP

    springs or coilovers

GAZ/FK are pretty stif from what I've heard and H&R are perfect for road. Then there's Bilstein and Leda which I have no knowledge of but are the top of the crop, especially for track use. Honestly, you'd love the H&R's but they're about £720.

Are you proud to own a RenaultSport?

I like mine, respect it for what it can do. Over 3 years on...
  29. CHRIS172CUP

    springs or coilovers

It'll feel dogshit if you use springs or coilies especially with the 17's on. Coilovers are the best route imo but you can probably get a good drop from a cheap set of Apex lowering springs. Saying that, I find the damping on my H&R's better than the standard setup. All bumps soaked up much...

    knocking when accelerating

I get kncoks too, it's the snappy delivery. Even in 3rd to 4th on track. I tihink mine is the top mounts on the suspension.
