Re: Iceberg 172 Cup Project
Thanks! the 2118's are one of the best purchases I've made tbh :)
On another note, I quite fancy changing the side/bump strips for grey/black ones (cup racer style)
Anyone know if these are just the poverty spec ones that are used? Or, were they a specific paint...
Re: Iceberg 172 Cup Project
I'm thinking of doing the same tbh, I'm hoping it wasn't long until the polarised locking bolts are available, but could be ages I suppose!
Re: Iceberg 172 Cup Project
Thanks! :)
haha! The car is garaged when I'm at home and the car park at work is supposedly secure. Fingers crossed I'll never have that issue to deal with!
Re: Iceberg 172 Cup Project
Sounds good, could be interested in something like that. I'll have to see how it looks when I've tidied up the hubs.
I've just sent a PM over to you, but I can't seem to find anodised blue, I must have been mistaken! :(
Re: Iceberg 172 Cup Project
No, not expensive at all; £40 for 16 of them, plus delivery.
I think the locking bolts will be about £20-£25 for 4, so again, not bad at all. :)
I believe the same place do them in anodised finishes too.
Re: Iceberg 172 Cup Project
Decided I was going to change over the bolts and tidy up the hubs this morning; I got as far as getting the bolts swapped before the weather took a turn and it decided to rain! :dapprove:
I'm not sure about what to do about the locking wheel nuts at present, until...
It's a shame it's not worked out as planned, as it was a unique and interesting idea! One that I was looking forward to seeing.
I suppose that was the risk, with them only being available in a universal fitment.
I've had my supersport stealth for a good few months now and I don't find it 'too loud' to live with everyday. Having said that, I was expecting it to be quite a loud system, based on what people had posted on here. It's pretty loud, but I personally don't find it too intrusive.
Re: Iceberg 172 Cup Project
I finally got fed-up of looking at the dirty horrible ones that are currently on the car!
The only thing to watch, is my current ones have a rotating sleeve at the taper, whereas these don't. Got to be careful when torque'ing them up not to damage the wheels!
But...
Re: Iceberg 172 Cup Project
Wheel bolt arrived yesterday; impressed with how it looks and the quality :approve:
Checked the fitment, which is correct, so I've just ordered a complete set to replace all the existing bolts. If they arrive as quickly as the first one I ordered, they should...
Re: Iceberg 172 Cup Project
I believe I've found the 'polar' effect wheel bolts, in the correct sizing.
12x1.5 thread, 60 degree tapered seat and a 27/28mm thread length; sounds correct to me?
So, I've got a single sample on the way to check, before placing a full order for 12 standard...
