sideskirts am pretty easy to aerosol ,anything small or long is usually easy, but, as always, its best to just get them sprayed with a gun, just so much easier.
as for the wind, yea, youd be wasting most of the paint into the air, try always paint in doors if possible like in a shed or something
i doubt it would have enough air to spray a spoiler.
might be ok for 2 quick passes for sidestrips.
ideally you want 3 guns, primer, basecoat and laquer
but you can get away with 2, 1 for primering, 1 for painting (basecoat/laquer) just keep them clean
fair play for having a go at doing it yourself but IMo it looks s**t, dont think the vents go with the lines of the car at all.
would have looked much nicer with just the valver/williams bonnet on
aint 100% sure, possibly it is screwed in a little bit and then the rest will just hammer out.
does it have a torx slot on the top/underside of it, if so, undo that until it dont come down no more, then get a fllat headed screwdriver and a hammer and hammer it until the pin comes out
No more?
The CRIA threatened the company renting the servers to us, and because of this it is not possible to keep the site online. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your understanding.
how about have a go at doing it yourself?
you cant break anything.
worse case scenerio you f**k up the spraying and you have to sand it all down and start again
in a bodyshop, completely agree, but at home ide tend to advise to take your time, theres no rush.
that took 2 days to do purely because it was sprayed in 2 parts and i didnt want to mark the laquer with the masking for the 2nd spray.
What Will I Need For Preparing/Primering?
- Mixed Dry Sandpaper (P180 & P320)
- Aerosol Cellulose Primer
- Aerosol Matt or Satin Black Spray Paint
- Cleaning Rags
*Optional Item*
- Aerosol Spray Gun Adapter (More even spraying and generally easier) Link
- Panel Wipe...
if the laquer dulls then visually the colour has changed
thats why every single basecoat/laquer job has to blended into the next panel if its anywhere near the edge, otherwise you would have a hard edge and 2 completely different colours.
but as you put it "colours dont change" i suppose you...
