Iceberg 172 Cup :)
As a few things will be happening soon, I thought best to stick everything in a single thread. I spent a little while sorting through flickr this morning and finding all the photos needed to diary the car to date; I started a thread a few months back which I planned to...
Having spoken directly to Gaz and a guy called Andy (who was very helpful and understanding in sorting it out) the front struts are being collected tomorrow and will be replaced with 54mm versions :D
TBH, without this guys help, I doubt anything would have progressed at all! So top marks on the...
Having spoken directly to someone at Gaz this morning, things are looking much more promising!
The guy was very helpful and said it will be sorted :) I've just got in from work and they've left a message on answer phone, so I'll have to give them a ring back tomorrow from work as there's nobody...
I'll have to see what Gaz say today, as when Mike from Corby motorsport spoke to them yesterday they told him both 172 cup and 182 cup use 60mm hole spacing.
As they're built to order, as such, I think it would be difficult getting them to accept a return.
I'm surprised the manufacturer (Gaz)...
I've got their number, so will be giving them a call tomorrow :argue:
I certainly didn't expect this when ordering; I was annoyed when they arrived with the incorrect hole spacing, but now they're claiming it's correct, it's becoming a bit of a nightmare TBQFH
They're on the top; they supplied a key which sits on top and allows the adjustment :)
Looks like I'll have to argue the point with Gaz tomorrow then; they're producing suspension for the cars, without ever making sure they fit?! Awesome :D
Update on this; Mike from Corby motorsport has just phoned.
Gaz have said they supplied the correct kit for a 172 cup! They've said that 172 cup and 182 cup share the 60mm hole spacing :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
They can change them to 54mm hole spacing, by swapping the casing, however...
How much adjustability is there, does it allow it go from very soft to very hard? I think it states 42 points for the rear and I think 12 on the fronts?
Was a guy I spoke to this morning; he seemed very willing to help, etc :)
I'm in no doubt it will be sorted by them
Is it the GHA kit you're running? How are you finding it?
I'm assuming they acknowledged there's differences in hole spacing then?
I can see from their website now that they list the same model code for a 172 cup as they do for a 182 cup (GHA366) which I'm assuming is the problem as they're not the same
There's a different product code (GHA336)...
I wasn't 100% on ordering them, seeing as they get mixed reviews on here. However, I had a Ford before my Clio, where they were rated highly, so thought I'd give them a go :)
Just hoping it's sorted quickly, which I'm sure it will be
lol I'll give them a chance to sort it :)
I've had a look through the corby motorsport application list too and I think that's where the issue has come from. It also contradicts what they said about all the suspension being the same too lol
They list the same product code (GHA336) when looking...
Yeah, they said all Clio Sport's have the same hole spacing lol!
I'm assuming it must be Gaz's spec list that's incorrect, as reading through their fitment list they list the same product code for all Clio Sport's later than 2001.
No way could I do 13 weeks; 3 weeks and 1 day was horrible...
Corby motorsport; I've just spoken to them.
I explained the fact that 172, 172 cup and 182's should have 54mm spacing, with the 182 cup having 60mm spacing...only to be told that all sport's have the same hole spacing :banghead:
Stating again that 172 cup should have 54mm spacing and not the...
After waiting 2/3 weeks, my coilovers arrived yesterday :D
However, thought it sensible to check the hole spacing before doing anything with them. The kit was ordered for a 172 cup, but I've received 60mm spacing :(
Going to make a call when they open this morning; I'm assuming...
During the installation of front components :rasp:
That included running cables up and down the car for the amplifier and back to the crossovers, which are under the passenger seat, though! :D
