yup, will need to be wet flatted first obviously, so leave it a GOOD few hours or you'll rip the paint in the run.
what colour you painted over? or on top of primer?
dont worry your fine ;)
but i got a great idea, lets start a thread about how something isnt selling aswell in the second week as the first week.
anyone wanna play a game of stating the f**king obvious? doh youve already started!
rear arches or wings?
you got rust?
from renault you can buy full rear quarter panels yes for about £200 a side. alternativley you could buy second hand cut outs for about £25 and just cut out the affected areas.
or you can goto a local motor spares and buy a universal arch, basically a strip...
bumper off, turn it over, clean up the back and scuff it up with some rough sandpaper.
find some plastic that will cover your holes, i generally use filler spreaders, and sikaflex (bonding stuff used in a mastic gun) the spreaders over the hole from the back.
turn bumper back over, scuff up...
hmm, location?
i wouldnt really advise it as its ALOT of work for a mk 1 1.2. and what do you mean by arches? you mean actual rear quarters? as you cant really just put in the flared but of the arch below the swage line as the ammount of welding/filler/time it would take to get perfect would be...
only just seen the thread sorry. 195/50 15's dropped on 55 mil springs front = no rubbing whatsoever on full lock or anything
on rear dropped 80 mil it rubbed slightly on speed humps if i hit them too fast or was 4 up
door handles/door strips/bumper strips/boot locks/wing mirrors/*possibly* spoilers can all be done with aersolos. anything else needs being done with gun n compressor. bonnet can be done on your drive with a compressor n gun but be prepared for flys n other crap to land in it n need to be wet...
you got whole bumpers to paint aint ya james? i really would recommend using a bodyshop for that unless your v v experienced with aersols and confident you can get the finish you want.
pretty clueless cliokhunt. ive seen cars come into our bodyshop that are definite writeoffs and weve been told to repair them, other times weve had cars in that have f**k all damage and weve been told not to touch them as theyre writeoffs.
while respecting your opinion and your beliefs, what difference does it make structurally to take a car from factory as opposed to a factory car thats had a new bumper, new headlights, new wings and a new bonnet. what difference would there be in a crash if the parts have been swapped properly...
you can usually just bend the door back slightly at the top (by the roof), wedge something in there that wont damage the paint (bolster chissel wrapped in cloth) then a long piece of metal, put it in, take it out, bend it til you get the right shape for the inner door handle.
